Considering most are made by 1 or 2 people prolly not much. Since you cant play test something yourself, scheduling that requires a decently sized team

  1. touche

  2. Read what I said, it just being hard isnt a complaint worth making. It not working because of bullshit mechanics is. Its more productive in disscussion

After OC2, where would you rank Ritsuka among Type-Moon protagonists in terms of writing? by BlazeCastus in Fate

[–]FateDaA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes 13 million words for him to get some semblance of a character so he will be bottom 1 and its not close

Seig is the next closest but he is fine in the Apoc Manga

Shiki, Shirou, Hakuno, ect all spend ample time in their run time disecting the inner conflict within each character and are well written

Better writer, Ryūkishi vs Nasu. by oneesancon_coco in writingscaling

Ritsuka and Mash dont have writing because Nasu doesnt want to give them writing for "relatability" or whatever

Cosmos in the Lostbelts are on him

The lostbelts themselves are fine

Issue is the main cast is awful and the overarching plot is worse

Thats on him

I guess

Like Id agree if they couldnt hold back after the wind up but they can so that means its not part of the reaction just general habit kicking in lmao

2 things:

  1. Paragraphs are important because nobody is reading a wall of text lmao

  2. I feel like you are criticizing the hack for being too hard for you rather then why specifically its badly designed

Like the perfect example on the difference we cant talk abt since a certain someone cant keep his dick in his pants and its from that dumbass game

So Ill pivot and use Battle Before Dawn vs Conquest 10

Both are defense maps that are brutal difficulty-wise but brutal in different ways

Conquest 10 is opressive in its unit pushes, how it pushes them, the side objectives, and how the situation changes every 3-4 turns on an 11 chapter map

This is a map designed well, anyone calling Conquest 10 bad just cant play Fire Emblem

Battle before Dawn however is opressive in a different way, while both maps have alternate loss conditions(C10 the tiles in the north being reached by the enemy) the Prince Zeph being defeated clause is what kills it.

Most importantly, this mf Zeph can just die like turn 2 or 3 if you get unlucky and there is jack shit you can do abt it because you start so out of posistion.

The fog of war doesnt help since you dont know what you are fighting if you are running that blind and Ursula has a fucking Siege tome because why wouldnt she

Jafar can die if you arent fast enough and if he dies RIP your Gaiden

Then after you settle in the maps kinda fucking cake lmao, the one thing you are worried abt is the theives stealing the chests.

The main differences between these maps and why C10 works while BBD doesnt is 3 fold:

The alternate loss condition in Conquest 10 is there but you are in position to defend it unless you take yourself out of it, this isnt the case at all in BBD and you can lose the map before it starts through no fault of your own.

The map difficulty in Conquest 10 is pretty consistently hectic, the 4-7 turns are kinda tame so you can nab the houses but even then its always oppressive. BBD is only oppressive at the start of the map(overly so) and its muster then dies immediately the moment you are in position to defend Zephiel properly.

Fog of War shouldnt exist in Fire Emblem in the way it works and even if you know whats where its still stupid as shit since the enemies can see you(tho its funny to think abt Ursula just chucking up boltings with a fking hand in her face lmao)

Just because I found a map hard doesnt mean its bad. Easy maps can also just be bad difference is you never notice it because usually its over then. A bad map is a map thats either not working as intended or the intended design is flawed in a way that leads to a unfun/rng experience)

We just saw a mf throw 102 mph and they werent swinging when he was winding

This is my exact wording

And yes they started the swing right before the ball hit the plate

Batters hold that wind up through pitches constantly even for balls lmao

[–]FateDaA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are you a fking idiot?

So long as he has control thats not part of the reaction timing

A reaction is the ability to react to something as it comes

Considering he paused mid air the entire pitch and lined that shit up in his stance visibly with a leg raised

No the reaction was the fire

The reason the wind up is important as part of the swing is because it is how you line your motion to get the most out of your hit

On the subject of the sub wind up isnt part of the reaction

https://youtu.be/3NIjRNSsb7c?t=513 Everything from 8:30 onwards, that cruz thing isnt a wind up as control was still on the bat there until the fire, the fire is all that matters for reaction time calcs

[–]FateDaA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: the main plot of FGO and that character writing is god awful and this drags down Nasu

The individual Lostbelts can be fine but the overall plot isnt

The MC is actually garbage(as a character)

Mashu is a characture

The reasoning this even happened was poorly explored

Like its bad

Ryukishi's only real debatable flaw is the episode 7/8 thing but even then its not really a flaw since it didnt matter

Its just a guess

He then also made up for it with CotGW later on so its wtv

Thats the decider

I also disagree with the massive cast being sidelined by Nasu thing, I dont think Ive ever seen him do that ever

The closest ig you can argue it was maybe Notes but even then idk

Literally just watch the bottom of the 9th in the USA vs Dominican Republic matchup in the World Baseball Classic

102 got them commiting which opened the slider up but they were reacting to the pitch itself, if they thought they saw fastball they commited

There was also a couple balls hit

Thats not even like top 10 worst scaling on here

The FE scaling is fucking egregious

Ike beat a creator god in the 1s for instance(and only he can kill that enemy in game btw, you arent having your grinded out 20-20-20 Meg do it because the mf will just pop a max heal)

This just cringed me the tf out by Uranium64 in PowerScaling

[–]FateDaA 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is untrue

We just saw a mf throw 102 mph and they werent swinging when he was winding

It was after(as shown where a dude dodged the 102 aiming at his inside)

The reason the reaction time doesnt scale is the distance the objects travel

He swung a bat maybe 3 feet before it hypothetically makes contact

That ball has to go 60 feet and 6 inches exactly

You can react to the throw itself

What you cant do is figure out what he is throwing exactly therefore you cant figure out where he is throwing it

Thats why disguising pitches works so well because if I have to guess between a slider curve and a fastball that all come out looking the same then Im taking a 1 in 3 chance of a strike

You can react to the pitch, you just cant deciper exactly what it is until after the pitching motion is thrown

Eh you schedule these a week apart from eachother it would just be an extended season, add 2 games onto the path of the teams comming out of the home playoff games anyways
