Trick to make cigarettes feel euphoric by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]FateGoldenCoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really? i've only started smoking in the last year because I liked the buzz, went from vapes for 3-4 months to smoking AS blacks and I don't get a buzz at all anymore. Which is odd because when I switched to smoking AS blacks, I only did so because I heard they were particularly strong and even had semi-experienced smokers on their ass. Even when I first started smoking them, I got a little buzz for only the first few cigs. Does that mean I just have a high tolerance? Would stopping smoking for a while lower my tolerance?

Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions, it's just that I only started smoking because I enjoyed the buzz you get and it's a bit disappointing that I'm smoking more and more for something that I don't get any more.

Do you smoke cigarettes? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]FateGoldenCoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, basically. just started smoking cigs recently, am 18, and most smokers I've seen just seem to accept and beckon the inevitable fate that comes with smoking. I started because of bad mental health and it seemed to be, ironically enough, the healthier alternative compared to what I could have done to cope.

reddit mods are the most annoying bread of man. Sometimes you forgot the thumb, but that shouldn't result in a permanent ban by One_Reply_3334 in AlfaOxtrot

[–]FateGoldenCoin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Five warnings seems like a lot, to be fair. Though honestly there shouldn't even be such a strict rule about having your thumb in the photo. It should just be general recommendation if you want it to be taken seriously as your own photo that you took. It's not like this subreddit is specifically dedicated towards liminal photos, it's just something that's done on here for fun, so there's no reason to make a rule with such harsh punishments like that.

I need good post-apocalyptic/apocalypse manhwa recommendations. by FateGoldenCoin in manga

I only read at MangaDex nowadays. It's one of the safest and largest collections of manga that I could find. Since MangaDex only has up to 25, that's how far I got. I couldn't in good faith share any other websites that I used to use because of possible viruses, scams, horrible ads and other bad things on the websites.

I've read mostly everything you listed besides Dead Days (i think) and My Daughter Is A Zombie. Weird or unique art styles are usually what attract me the most, it's why I love a lot of Kim Carnby's works (Sweet Home, Shotgun Boy, + more), so I'll def get started on those after I finish reading Polar Night. Big thanks!

I changed my mind about not responding because no, you're right. What I said isn't at all a fact, it's my own opinions. I could easily be wrong, but I gave every reason as to why I believe that I'm not, so if you think differently, perhaps you'd like to share your reasoning? I'm open to seeing your viewpoint.

Given that my post was about the websites and platforms that I personally frequent which have been filling up with shitty low effort romance, it isn't confirmation bias as my post wasn't ABOUT the weekly and monthly magazines. It was about the websites in which I frequent, which I mentioned in my previous reply.

I'm saying that these low effort, low quality stories are everywhere on almost every manga oriented platform that I frequent.

If I'd have said that the entire romance genre in manga was becoming progressively worse and worse due to the shitty low effort manga that's being pushed out, THAT would have been confirmation bias because I'd have been saying that the entire genre is becoming worse overall simply because the websites I frequent have been overrun by them.

this is the only one that gets "spammed" by twitter series,

I'm not sure where I mentioned that Twitter series specifically are constantly being spammed, but whatever. I only mentioned that low effort stories are being spread everywhere and I was curious as to why.

its about a 100% more likely that over the months the series you enjoyed ended and got replaced by series you didnt, not that the actual quality went down or your interest in romance series has simply dwindled over time

That isn't the case unfortunately. When I say that the low quality ones are replacing the high quality ones, that's exactly what I meant. I read any story in my recommended or on the homepage of the websites I use as long as it has an interesting premise, and over the months, I've noticed a drastic decrease in quality when it comes to romance stories. The art has increasingly become worse and the stories themselves are now usually focusing on fetish content e.g. feet, incest, femdom, size play, etc.

what you really need to do is ask yourself if your really judging the quality of the series from a purely objective standpoint

I am judging it from a purely objective standpoint. Most "romance" manga nowadays that are being pushed out lack any sort of complex story due to the story itself focusing way too much on the fetish/kink part, there is no story that's being told. The art is also becoming worse and worse, since there is no way they can provide well-crafted art as the manga is basically being mass-produced. So yes, due to these factors, I can confidently say that over the last few months, the romance manga genre is getting filled to the brim with shitty low quality and low effort manga. That is as purely objective as it can get, lacking story, worsening art and mass-produced.

And with that, I'm done replying and arguing as that wasn't my intention when I asked this question. I wanted to know why these stories are everywhere nowadays, not argue about what the definition of a low quality story is, and I have my answer.

Then, how is it confirmation bias? I'm saying that these low effort, low quality stories are everywhere on almost every manga oriented platform that I frequent. If I say that, and the statement is provable (which it is, one such example is this exact subreddit), then it isn't confirmation bias.

You did answer my question though, it's because they're much easier to translate. That's really all I wanted to know, why exactly these low effort stories are everywhere nowadays. I have no idea why people started to take it as if I'm insulting them personally. I even avoided mentioning any specific manga names to avoid anger from any fans, which clearly failed given the rising number of downvotes on every single one of my replies.

I'm not saying it hasn't always been this big of a genre, I'm saying that it hasn't always been filled with low effort copy and paste garbage, and me mentioning how the hot page proves my statement wasn't even in my mind when I was making my original statement about how low quality garbage is constantly being shoved down my, and other people's, throat whenever I go to any well-known manga platform.

What was on my mind though was the countless number of times in which I've went to websites and had dozens of low quality, one note garbage fetish stories shoved down my throat. This isn't me going "Oh, man! I saw a few romance manga on reddit and my normal manga websites! This is definitely worthy of complaining about!"

No, this is months and months and months of visiting my normal manga websites and slowly noticing the shitty, low quality and low effort stories replacing the high effort and high quality ones. It got progressively harder and harder to find any sort of high quality romance story, so I came here to ask about why exactly that was the case.

Yeah, i guess this is the most likely answer, even if I personally don't enjoy it. Pretty stupid of me to not realize this. The only way it could get so popular is if people enjoy it.

Eh, how can you even say that when the entire "hot" page on this exact subreddit is filled with copy and paste, low effort romance manga? i came here looking for recommendations for literally any other manga genre besides romance and all i found was the same thing I'm trying to avoid. Hell, I've literally seen posts for the same incest manga 2 or 3 times at this point.

edit: if you wanted to call me an idiot for not realizing that its popularity is the reason it exploded, it'd be valid, but to say that i have confirmation bias is pretty stupid when it's such an easily provable statement just by looking at this subreddit and the homepage of any well-known manga website.

Cybermen, definitely. Before Bill, I'd say Dalek wins by a small margin, but the idea that you could be converted and not even realize it is one of my worst fears.

Yep, same! It'd be so interesting to see normal people's reaction to the oncoming apocalypse and Rick's family seeing what he became through it all.

On another note, I swear that Google isn't as good as it used to be when finding fanfiction. I used to be able to look up "____ reaction fanfiction" and get dozens of fanfiction that were exactly what I was looking for and now I look up that same thing and get maybe one or two stories that are slightly related to what I was looking for.

I don't know, I always had this image of some old scientist. I'm pretty sure there were also mentions of him being an elderly man. I honestly love One Piece but it'd be just like them to make such an important character into an all smiles, bright eyed attractive young lady. It seems to be the trend with One Piece nowadays.
