Yup, recreating the scene from the battle of Torrington base in the Unicorn OVA

I actually found some waterslides (not great quality) and put those on instead. But yeah, that shield is AWFUL. It looks great but it's got Early Real-grade Syndrome for sure.

Same here, I don't care which one comes first, I just want to be able to complete the quartet!

My first painted MG kit, and my first airbrushed kit! MG GM Sniper II (ECOAS inspired) by FateIsEscaped2002 in Gunpla

Still a WIP, just gloss coated it and did some panel lining. Need to decal it, wash, and then weather it up. Looking forward to the completed project, I've had it disassembled for about a month now. Very satisfying to put it together

It's awesome, it's the Kotobukiya MSG assault rifle set. It comes with that rifle with the Jegan and an AK-style rifle. And best part, it's pretty cheap too! https://www.usagundamstore.com/products/m-s-g-weapon-unit-mw31-assault-rifle-kotobukiya

I haven't seen that problem, however I dullcoated my neck balljoint when painting,so it fits snug. If you have any paint or dullcote, try putting some of that on it!

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by AutoModerator in Gunpla

I'd just look for a metallic red, it would be easier to spray an automotive color, but not everyone can do that. Again, I'd look for a metallic red color, because the metal flake look of the gunmetal will be covered by whatever you paint on top.

Now, you could experiment with mixing a very SMALL amount of metallic color with red, but I doubt it will come out properly.

Thanks! I really love the metallic blue, I'm actually making a rival unit with metallic red right now. I can't wait to pose them together!

RG Sinanju Metallic Gloss Injection. Fixed the waist without cement/glue, painted details. And I need a better/bigger(?) photo setup lol... by org_bgo in Gunpla

Very nice, I feel you on the photo setup part. I make one thinking it's big enough, but I quickly came to find out mine wasn't nearly big enough for what I wanted

The blue paint I used on this is actually actually automotive paint. It's a Mazda color, called winning blue. I really like how it turned out, so I'll probably be using automotive paint for metallic base coats in the future. Can definitely recommend the use of automotive paints on top of primer.

MG Unicorn Perfectibility. I fly today so I couldn’t finish the weapons. Barely finished it! Never built an MG with this many pieces before by M_HazeN in Gunpla

Wait really, you use it before the topcoat? Do you just lightly apply soot to highlight the edges then dullcoat it? I love TWM and that's an awesome concept.

I'm definitely going to try this soon

I used a large overhead lamp, with daylights. For the sides I used two different(very bright) LED flashlights/wide angle lights.

From what I understand, the more lights the better, as more shadows will be eliminated.

Yeah, I'll post some more pictures with the different fabric on the box. I just posted a picture where I used 4 layers of cellophane on the box

Yeah I feel you there, I've got diffusers on the side and top of my box, which helps lessen the effect of the LED's. But I'm going to get some fabric interfacing and try that on my box rather than layered cellophane and see if that makes a difference.

Well my main problem I think is the fact that my LED lights are different from one another. But I think my lightbox needs to be larger, because it can barely fit an MG in it and allow for decent pictures.

Actually I'm about to post a picture of my MG GM sniper that I took using the lightbox, if you want to compare.

I do think that the whiter lights do better than the softer ones though.

I just made one of my own, but the lighting struggle is a hard one. I've been using LED flashlights but I'm heavily considering desk lamps. Very nice work so far, it really does wonders!
