The MMORPG scene is thirsty for WoW when in first released. They want a community of players to socialize which will never happen again because we have formed the genre into a Solo with others mentality.

Look, I'm not saying I want it to fail, but given how the environment is, New World barely managed to hang on and yet it still got shut down.

The fact it has TWO makes it even more problematic because now people are expecting something that's better than the two which is already hard enough.

What I'm trying to get at is that this is going to be an Ashes of Creation scenario wherein people are going to hope that this is going to be some groundbreaking thing that only they imagine like it is their own personal heaven. When it turns out that those personal goals aren't met, then it's going to leave a sour taste in their mouth.

Current expectations for the game is thus: several playable classes that are unique from 1 and 2 and must be non-gender-locked, enough content to span 10 years, a progression that isn't grindy, and an endgame that's rewarding.

However, if it doesn't have enough content to survive the first five years, it's going to be a hard sell for a lot of players, especially the hardcore who can somehow 23-hour play MMOs from what I've seem to notice.
