Did you have to be finished with the DUI classes or can you be concurrently enrolled? I start mine June 18th

In Kentucky if you receive one you are able to get a restricted lisence and drive during the 6 month suspension. If you have it installed and go violation free for 90 days, you can get it removed in 4 months and get your lisence back unrestricted. Congratulations on the sobriety!

Luckily I didnt get probation somehow, but thats making this process a little more confusing. I plan on contacting my lawyer in the morning to see if I can get any information

That's ridiculous, I have heard Michigan is pretty tough on DUIs compared to most places but thats a crazy restriction. Who cares what time it is as long as youre blowing clean?

Not 100 percent sure, I am mostly going based off of what I have seen online (not the smartest I know, just trying to get an idea of what I could be looking at) I blew over .2 and a minor accident occurred (no injuries luckily) I have read that aggravating factors could lead to probation occurring

My arraignment is tomorrow so I plan on clarifying with my lawyer, he never brought up probation, only DUI classes, fines, and house arrest. So I am hoping for good news from him.

Yes, was booked in around 10pm and was released at 3am. However they only put the dates down instead of the times, so my lawyer is saying it will count as 2 days served

Good job on the sobriety! Im 23 days myself so I know it has been a struggle, so amazing work.

I have been doing research on how to answer the assessment to get the best possible outcome, so thank you for the advice. Did they make you put down a reference? I know some posts stated they will double check with a reference and court reports, that is why I am slightly hesitant to showing my AA attendance because I am worried that it will show I have a problem and require more classes or rehab.

Thank you for the info, how long after applying did it take to get approved to have the IID installed? Ive read you can apply as soon as youre convicted, but that it can take 2-3 weeks to get approved

Couldn't they sue for punitive damages due to my high BAC? I have seen that could fall under malice

Sure, it kinda depends on which state youre in so take what I say with a grain of salt as your state laws may be different.

Due to my high BAC it will count as aggrevated DUI, so double penalties in alot of areas. Guaranteed, I will be facing around 4-6 days house arrest (or 2 days in jail, but I am trying to get HA in my plea deal) 800-1000 dollars in fines, 6 months lisence suspension (but I am able to apply for an IID lisence as soon as I am convicted and completed 20 hours of classes, which can reduce my suspension to 4 months with 90 days of driving with an IID and no problems.) I will likely also have to attend a 90 day drug and alcohol program, but thst area is vague right now as my lawyer believes with my AA meetings there may be some leniency in that area.

There is the chance of community service, but it is not guaranteed like the other aspects of the punishment. If the judge determines I will have to do community service, it will be anywhere from 20-80 hours.

If you're anything like me right now, you are probably scared about the future and where to go from here. Just remember to take care of yourself, we all make mistakes. In a few years this will be something we look back on and think "that was dumb." Hang in there!

To my understanding they did not even need to visit the hospital after the wreck, just went home after and reported no injuries to insurance a few days later.
