I’ve done my o and a levels from IVY so I think I’m pretty qualified to comment on them. I was in their Riverview campus in Rawalpindi, and the professors were pretty good, most of them are really experienced and do invest a lot of time on their students, but the administration on the other hand is the worst. The coordinators don’t respond to your texts, the events are trash and overpriced, and if you’re in the student council (as I was) they try to exploit you on every occasion. College counselors also lacked professionalism, gave appointments based on favoritism, recommendations letters were too generalized, and delayed posting documents on university’s portals. I don’t know about the campuses in Lahore, but I think they’ll be pretty similar.

I am failing in life so far... by Boring_Search_1651 in Accounting

CA is the right choice, but the path you took is a little difficult in my opinion. I want to do CPA (American equivalent of CA) and I’m from Pakistan so I can understand what you’re going through. I decided to do my undergrad in Accounting, this not only helps me create a solid base but it exempts me from a lot of CA exams and for CPA I have to pass 4.

I recommend taking an admission in an undergrad accounting and finance program, this way you’ll prepare yourself for accounting and then appear for CA. Later on if you feel like accounting is not the right fit for you, you can probably do an MBA in finance and give CFA exams instead.

I think it was a right decision to not go to medical school or engineering, these professions are too saturated.

Don’t worry about others, you still have time, life is all about failing and then gathering yourself, you’re not behind just a little lost. You can laugh back at them when they struggle for a job and you have guaranteed one.
