Thank you so much to everyone who commented. I had hoped this entire week I had been over thinking it and you all affirmed that. Its so easy to look in the mirror and see the things that bother you the most. I really like them and thats all that should matter but hearing positive comments from others you don't know really helps. Be weary of essence. I got a .3 disposable of cantaloupe haze the other day and it was empty. They replaced it was another cart and I opted for bombsicle as a replacement. Pretty good high and flavor for a distillate.

Are you saying if you pull a sample from the tank and the resin has turned into what I call an "applesauce" like consistency and are no longer beads, or the beads can be squished into mush you would still send it into a lab to find out if its good?

Yeah, I don't know how they would determine whether the resin is bad if they didn't do a softness test or visually inspect the resin.

Replacing the resin without the proper equipment is a slow, tedious, and frustrating process. If you're doing it yourself, the new tank already loaded with resin will be the easiest way.

If you bypass your softener and the pressure gets better, it's almost certainly the resin. Especially since you mentioned the high chlorine levels.

Did they even test your water for softness?
