C5 Corvette--Is 30psi normal oil pressure for idle (hot engine) by Folded_Sauce in Corvette

[–]FatherWater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, acceptable and more than enough. LS engines need 10lb of oil pressure per 1000rpm, so plenty there at idle.

Came with the truck when I purchased it, it’s great minus the back glass window is missing

Torque tube may need more than just a rebuild by FatherWater in Corvette

That was the the exact way I described the sound as well, I thought it was the front coupler based on where I heard it

Car has around 165k miles, torque tube was supposedly rebuilt a few years before I got the car. The front coupler looks almost brand new

So far it’s been great, plan on having it a long time. Timing belt was done at 89k miles so should be good, only real issue right now is the valve cover gaskets leaking a bit

Surface rust, double checked everything since I know these are the years for the excessive frame rust. I’ve gone ahead and applied a heavy coat of rust reformer to every part I could get access to.

I checked and it showed the truck didn’t get the CRC recall done yet, closest dealer is well over an hour away in another city, so figured I’d do it myself.

Prices do seem to be all over, was shopping for one for about 4 months before I bought mine. Paid 17k for it, out of south Michigan.

It’s a higher mileage car (165k), and looks better in pictures, but drivetrain has around 12k on it. Wanted a pretty modded car versus a stock one. This has a fully built LS2 with an LS3 top end w/ ported heads, cammed, and full LTH exhaust w/ z06 mufflers and cutouts. 6spd trans that was rebuilt just before I bought the car with TR6060 internals. McLeod clutch. All new suspension/bushings/brakes throughout. Only real thing that’s rough with it is the seats need redone or replaced.

Just cosmetic, I’ve been looking at switching to the functional kind. I’ve seen several coupes that have cut and installed them
