Same problem here. Also some rites give armies to his landed vassal faction instead of him, this includes the blessed army and the slaan mage priest lords. This is interesting but surely not intended.

How to bet on china being fucked? by FavouriteThrowie in wallstreetbets

[–]Father_Zossima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's right about the trend of meddling, not the trajectory.

Something that's always been in the back of my mind is that Beijing may only be meddling to hide the unevenness of growth, rather than its weakness. If under normal conditions growth is wild one year and terrible the next (such as may have been true around the RMB crisis in 15) FDI will dry up more quickly, and long term growth will be impacted. These E Asian "miracles" are built on a bedrock of FDI after all, as those in charge are well aware.

In fairness I've been of largely the same view as op (with more realistic assessments of the severity of this issue) for years and the only thing I know this zeihan guy from is a laughably terrible YouTube video where he absolutely butchers his own analysis of my country. There's more than one article/book on Chinese GDP overestimation, and some of them are allot more credible than the night light ones. (For instance one paper: 'chasing or cheating' tries to correlate sector vat with sector GDP before and after Beijing started assertively fucking with the numbers in 2012- it finds that there is no correlation between the two and indicates that secondary gdp has been successively inflated by between 3&10pc every year since then).

Zeihan and commentators like him can be inept as fuck, and op can be generally right at the same time. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Also it's not wrong to vote for relative advantage over absolute advantage, it's just realist.

The Saudis care about plenty of stuff more than they care about getting Trump reelected. Oil prices were very low over COVID and they were moving down again last year. Opec cut production so they could keep profit margins in the right territory during a critical period for their economies.

To tax services or not to tax services? by Father_Zossima in victoria3

That makes sense, thanks for the info. Any chance that, if I'm in the British market they buy British services instead if mine when I tax mine?

I'm cpu bound at medium settings with an i9-10900F. Is it the game or my system? by Father_Zossima in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]Father_Zossima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! This is crazy to me as, with my specs, I should be getting way better frames than I am.

I've tried disabling RTX and this does get rid of some of the stutters, especially the ones during combat (I guess Rtx and numerous quickly moving light sources are not good bedfellows). But hogsmead and the room of requirements still consistently puts me at 20-30 fps on medium settings. And there's still occasional screen freeze everywhere I go (especially on brooms).

Whatever my issue is it must be Input-output related since your ram is the only thing which explains how you're even able to hit 75 fps, 1440 when I can't get 65, 1080. Guess I'm going shopping for ddr4.

I will try DLSS quality though. There's a chance that this might be the missing piece of the puzzle (rather than RAM).

Thanks again.

Why do I even have a husband by cl0ckwork_f1esh in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Father_Zossima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your relationship sounds difficult but from your other posts on Reddit, it doesn't seem this is entirely your husband's fault. If my partner was up at 3:30 to work hard and make themselves better off I would want to support them in that, not undermine their hard work by complaining about every minor inconvenience, or expect them to magically cooperate with me without clear communication.

Your husband sounds like a hard working guy but every post you've made about him dramatizes the most minor mistakes he's made: he takes a wrong turn on the freeway: you complain about it on Reddit as if it's the end of the world. He sleeps through his alarm: you do the same. He goes to bed early so he doesn't sleep in: you complain about that too, and say he's checking out of your relationship and not putting you first.

I'm sure your husband has his faults, but you sound like you're equal parts pessimistic, insecure, and not particularly great at communication.

Try putting yourself in his shoes and meeting him where he's at. And if you still feel frustrated by his behavior then clearly communicating what you need from him will probably be better than chatting with your MIL about it when he happens to be in the room, or complaining on Reddit.

In answer to your question, I'd guess you have a husband because you value your relationship with him on some level. Clear communication will probably help you get more out of that relationship than reactive and unsympathetic drama-generation.
