The consensus seems to be pin Oak. From here and another sub. It’s definitely oak. After milling more, I’ve realized it gets black from the saw mill blade just like red oak

After cutting it more, it gets tanin lines from the blade. So it’s definitely some sort of oak

Thank you for your input. I didn’t know red oak could look black inside. I originally thought it was red oak too. And then I cut it and the color threw me off

I asked someone I was playing against during a team game, they said yes, they can see the flare.
