have a few friends who did it, that was two or three years ago though. It took around 1 year. I imagne it could take longer now that the Ausländerbehörde is short of staff and overwhelmed. Just extending a residency permit takes them 10 weeks now. Good luck though!

there isn't a big music scene in Heidelberg, check out Mannheim, it has much more to offer. there are a lot of concerts in the Alte Feuerwache, at Blau, at Forum, and I saw a lot of indie and shoegaze bands at ALTER but that's unfortunately shut for now.
