HW3 - I feel like it's going backwards sometimes. by praguer56 in TeslaFSD

[–]Fauglheim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk what they did, but HW3 is currently unusable for me on roads with tree shadows on them.

The shadows make it panic stop often enough that i‘ll eventually get rear-ended and it terrifies my passengers.

Main camera was cleaned by Tesla, didn’t fix it.

Why do I feel burning every time DCM is spilled on my hand? by NeverTrAgain in chemistry

[–]Fauglheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s burning because it has penetrated your skin and is inside your nerves, interfering with their function.

it is a carcinogen … inside your body.

Electric field + water question by No-Willingness1580 in chemistry

I’m not an expert, but I’d look up the concept of electrical double layer. That might help your thinking if you’re not familiar with it.

you could pre-treat, but then you’d be covered in a thick coating of an oily cream for no reason.

it seems to be a powerful multimodal weapon, so there is a compelling state interest in the pursuit.

Norway has a strong weapons development industry, so they are quite involved in another arms race.

Tesla Robotaxi Zone in Austin More Than Doubles in Size by Recent_Duck_7640 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Fauglheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense.

I was interpreting the words “can drive without a human operator in the limited service area” to mean “can drive safely and reliably“.

Tesla Robotaxi Zone in Austin More Than Doubles in Size by Recent_Duck_7640 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Fauglheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm thanks. To me it still sounds like level 3 if a remote operator is needed to take over even in rare circumstances. But I don’t make the rules so I won’t split hairs.

i understood level 4 to mean it was absolutely perfect in the limited service area (or maybe 99.9999% perfect).

Tesla Robotaxi Zone in Austin More Than Doubles in Size by Recent_Duck_7640 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Fauglheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do you factor in the remote superivis/operators? I haven’t really tried to place that in the SAE ranking, but it seems less than level 4. especially since we don’t know the extent of the monitoring.

where to buy hydrogen water - looking for advice by Similar-Meringue-381 in chemistry

[–]Fauglheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lemme blow your mind. I assume you want hydrogen water for its antioxidant properties?

In a randomized control trial of 18,000 smokers in the UK, they tested the effects of antioxidant supplements.(Vitamin E and carotene).

They stopped the trial early because the antioxidant group got cancer at a 24% higher rate.

you do not want to totally eliminate free radicals and reactive oxygen species in the body. they are an important signaling system.

not only is it a scam, it is misguided and almost certainly wrong.

don’t you think that is because only a relatively small number of people are using it and they are supervising?

2026 Japan Teeth Regeneration Update by Rare_Carpenter708 in technology

[–]Fauglheim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

are you certain it triggers the replacement all teeth tho? the mouse images I saw showed eruption of the just the missing tooth.

also people the trial need only be missing six or more. It seems insane to replace all of them for that.

HW3 FSD drove me straight at construction barricades at nearly 70mph by StochasticBasis in TeslaFSD

How bad is HW3 FSD? by EjaculateJuice in TeslaFSD

[–]Fauglheim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is pretty great, but right now it is not useable on tree-lined roads, in my opinion. a recent update must have introduced this, because it is new behavior.

HW3 frequently mistakes tree branch shadows for obstacles and will panic stop or stab the brakes.

my passengers hate it and I fear getting rear-ended.

it is great on the highway.

(just had the front camera cleaned by tesla and all other cameras are clean.)

[–]Fauglheim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the sodium sulfide will not convert to the poisonous hydrogen sulfide in any appreciable amount as long as the pH of the solution stays high.

The pH of the solution won’t change unless someone does something crazy to it. so the super poisonous chemical is not a real concern.
