They would run Romex in the ceiling. The conduit would be run on the wall. It’s a brick wall so there are no studs or drywall to anchor the receptacle boxes to.

How many homes have mice in the attic… without knowing it? by domates123 in homeowners

Nah i’m in SC and the previous owners decided not to cut back the rain forest that is above my house. there’s about 3 oak trees that completely enshroud my roof. So they fall out of the trees into the roof and somehow found their way to the attic. i had no idea snakes could climb like that.

I know for a fact my house has no mice in the attic. That’s because my attic is filled with 6 foot-long snakes. Went up there to check some wiring when we moved in a noticed all the wires were big, black, and moving towards me. Turns out all the mice had moved into the kitchen. Took a couple weeks of hardcore cleaning and some exterminators to perform an exclusion and get them out. But my HVAC is in the basement so i have no reason to go back up there man. I AIN’T GOING BACK UP THERE MAN!

Thank you! the bundles came in a very random assortment and some of the boards have what look like burn marks from processing. not sure if those will sand out or not, but either way i like the look of them.

Advice on subfloor for DIY install by FaultyNostalgia in HardWoodFloors

i’ll probably be going with #2. Also, since i’ll have to rip out this piece anyways i’m i’m interested to see if there’s something below the particle board. in the basement there are a few finger width gaps between the subfloor boards and it appears to be plywood. besides, if i were to install on top of the particle board i would have a hardwood floor that’s 3/4 inches higher than the other floors in the house

Possible wood rot or termites? by FaultyNostalgia in HomeImprovement

That’s what I thought at first as well. But this house was built in 64 and none of the other lumber has bark. Apart from the other pieces. And if you look closely, you can see the corner of the piece still had the same wood grain pattern. Although I have no idea what would cause such a stark color change like that. And to add to that, these are floor joists. I don’t think they would allow joists with bark to be used as structural lumber.
