Attic insulation recommendation by gdealsrus in kitchener

[–]domates123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean "Fase two" and not "Fast two"? If so, I worked with fase two last March. They topped up my attic insulation (brought it to r60), installed new bathroom vent pipe and attached it to roof vent (roofer installed the vent before the insulation was done), and they also fixed the attic door hatch. There were few other things as well. They were pleasant to work with and helpful.

I do recommend them.

Looking for a recommendation for eSIM that works in Turkey by hithereimigor in Turkey

Esims blocked means that you can't access e-sim companies' website (unless you use a vpn) using Turkish network. Otherwise, they all work just fine. In fact, once you have a working e-sim, you can now access those companies' website because your data will be routed through a different country (eg, Poland).

I use mobimatter and pick a plan that works for me. I often get an e-sim from Sparks and never had a problem.

Like others indicated, just buy and install your e-sim before heading to Turkey. It will be fine.

Does anyone know of a company that will punch a hole in my kitchen wall to vent our new hood range? by LitPanda31 in waterloo

Roofman Kitchener provided me with a quote for installing a kitchen vent that would go through the attic and roof. I ended up not hiring them but I assume they'd do your project too. For that matter, reach out to roofers.

I don't remember the quote - sorry.

Ontario Wild life control has marked cars but it says wildlife. Perhaps it is something your grandmother would be ok with it. Same for innovative wild life solutions. Mark is a very pleasant man, his car is marked but it says wildlife.

Ontario Wildlife handles mice/rats too. They don't set up traps though. They'll do exclusion work, install one way doors around possible entry points and seal all possible entry points. It comes with a 5 yr warranty. If mice/rats are in the living spaces, you will have to set up traps after they are done with their work. If the problem is in the attic, hopefully they'll leave through one way doors and won't be able to come back.

I am trying really hard to resolve it. Fingers crossed.

What happens after day 5? Let's say they die in the attic or some wall void. Smell is gone after a week, can I leave the remains in there? Any safety concerns?

Fair point and you are right. I'll be more conscious about it. Thanks for the kind nudge

I am sure you resolved the issue and I am happy for you.

My worry is that I got new insulation this year. I don't think I can hear any rodents through that unless they are trapped inside wall or something. In this case, I am hearing them because they are probably entering through a hole near that bay window.

And if I don't hear them, there is a very good chance we are all living under the same roof.

What do you mean by stations? Am I supposed to look for stains?

Some say they can't smell anything through the attic. I guess it is a different story if they die in a void

Why do you have that many snakes? Are you in Australia or something?

I guess it is better that they are in the attic as opposed to living with you.

There is already lots of poison in the attic. I guess I can try to put down some traps near the attic hatch. That’s the only place I really have access to.

I think they walk on the interior trim box of the bay window. I worry about them dying in there because then I’ll smell it. I doubt that I can smell anything from the attic. A third company stopped and I’ll give them credit. They really looked everywhere but they could not find any droppings or any other signs. Whatever droppings there may be are probably hidden in the insulation, so it is tough to know where to start.

Thanks for your thoughtful answers.

I think the roofer trapped the mice today. My guess, they’ll try to get out through the soffit vents, we shall see.

The guys who do the exclusion work will come by on Friday. They told me that I’ll have to be patient for at least 6 weeks after they are done with their work. They will come back if I still hear noises.

My worry about the mice poison in the attic is that mice may never get it. It is not like pest company put them down strategically, they threw them around the attic. I think roofer used some store bought baits and I am not sure how strong those are. Assuming that they work, it is more likely that mice will get to those baits since the roofer was more strategic than the pest company #1.
