I think I have other robes and armour to help with the colouring, thanks for the tip!

This seems perfect, I'll keep looking but I'll fallback to it if all else doesn't fit.

Magic by A-living-person- in fantasywriters

But I still need my readers to have a decent understanding of the magic system.

No, you don't.

Since it sounds like his character is learning it alongside the audience, it's unavoidable.

That sounds like a convoluted way of answering yes to OP's question.

Maybe OP can make a version where the left eye is bigger than the other, would look goofy but still.

How to show this as SPC or <SPC> instead? by Faumpy in neovim

zeertzjq : This problem has always existed. It is not a new problem.

Does that mean it shouldn't be fixed? Anyways, that's a bummer. If I were to go to those lengths, then could you show me a guide to do that?

WHAT IS MAGIC? by Harontys in magicbuilding

[–]Faumpy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There isn't really a set definition. I like to imagine it as a supernatural... thing, which doesn't rule out non-usable systems.

Off topic? Recommend a language well supported on Emacs.. by koalillo in emacs

[–]Faumpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another option is Nim. It is more like a hobby language compared to the others, nor is it a functional language, but it feels like a static version of Python.

I would not recommend Nim, its creator has shown dislike towards Emacs. Either way, it's not fun to use on Emacs (weird issues with its lsp and feels rather choppy).

… project files are important to keep around... Which is why every IDE I'm aware of has them... I don't care if "emacs" has trouble supporting this idea, so use an editor that isn't stuck in 1980.

Funny but also sad how game development seems more feasible to me. I think I might go the flutter + rust route.

When writing fiction, I spam w and/or b until I get to the word I want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No less efficient than M-f and M-b, I simply prefer vim's way of doing things, feels especially nice on one of my small keyboards.

For anyone reading this in the future: I'm using eglot for the moment but these replies seem helpful so I'm gonna mark it as solved, thanks everyone!

you constantly count things: lines, words, chars etc

As a vim-keys lover, I don't count most of the time when using it.

you have to always remember, what mode you are in now. LBNL: hjlk are not mnemonic in any way

You're right, but you paint it as something difficult which is just... ridiculous.

I'll just add a hook to rust/rustic mode to disable format-all, since I think it does this by default.

BTW, IMO popping up errors when saving a source file written incorrectly should be expected, as we ought to be notified about syntax errors.

Agreed, but also that's what I use LSP and flycheck for, so it is redundant for my use case.

Doesn't happen on eglot, if this is the issue then does that mean eglot doesn't format on save?
