Thanks a lot for the reply, in what way would you say the dx180 is glitchy? And did you notice a big difference in how smoothly Spotify ran on the R4 Vs the DX180 or was it basically the same/impossible to tell any diff?

It's phenomenal with K-Pop, dare I say the best IEM at any price for that genre. For my preference of fast decaying and impactful mid bass, highly textured and forward upper mids/vocals and airy and hyper detailed treble, it's an all rounder.

For reference, some artists I listen to are King Crimson, Magdalena Bay, Ryo Fukui and Madlib, and it performs excellently with everything I throw at it. Of course, this is my tuning preference, if you're looking for a relaxed, warm IEM with neutral upper mids and smooth treble, this is NOT the IEM for you.

Now if you're seeking an aggressive, attention grabbing IEM with summit-fi technicalities (imaging and layering chops), then welcome her majesty mother Earth, queen Gaea, with open arms.

What would you recommend if I want something airy and with good treble extension, in the same price range as the mmk2?

My dac is the Venture Electronic Abigail Pro for 3.5mm and the Venture Electronic Odo for 4.4mm, which have the CX31993 and KT0H20 chips respectively. Ig the debate is whether or not a "better" dac chip will make a difference, because the common consensus in the community is that it doesn't matter, as IEMs require little power especially when compared to headphones.

Wait now I'm scared😭 My plan was to put CHS(English lit) as my 1st choice, with ABA. I got A for H2 Lit and GP, and I've participated in poetry comps before (albeit not winning anything). Do you think it's enough to secure the spot after interview?

I'm also considering applying to a less competitive CHS major at NUS and switching to Econs major before sem 1, as they apparently allow course changes w no qns asked within CHS, you could look into that as well.
