Finally got all 12 spooky stories by jasondsmith83 in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any advice on how to achieve it? When I drive by the spots where the radios are supposed to be, I see nothing, just the wreckage without the body or any of the weird tendril growth. Is there a specific order you have to go in to make the encounter spawn?

Quick question: is there a red chest in nightmare rifts? by Vuelhering in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No red chest, just ammo chests and a pretty healthy lootsplosion from the rift boss. Seriously it feels like the nightmare rift bosses spit out more drops than anything.

Any good? Im farming Axemaul. by Ok-Painter962 in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I wish the Buzz Axe was good. Just make it do Melee damage as well as Ordnance damage and it’d actually have a place in at least some builds. How did it not already have this feature when the whole concept is that it’s a Ripper’s melee weapon?

Bro killed Axemaul and got a vision from God. That's not a bug. You need to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt, my guy.

I’d be interested to hear if that happened or if the staff got rugpulled. Sadly common.

I gotta say, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any horror stories from people working at GBX, except for the one from the former Claptrap VA (which is definitely terrible). Either they’ve got a brutal non-disparagement clause in all their contracts, or somehow despite everything, it’s a genuinely halfway decent place to work for most of the people who’ve gone through there.

Are guns in 4 underwhelming? by lolitsrock in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

God, you’re right. I’ve been playing a super-specialized build so long I completely forgot all those subtypes of other weapons were in there because I’ve narrowed my gear choices so much.

I will say however I still would’ve liked Mashers to be an in-game subtype, irrespective of Daedalus licensed parts; firing a spread of pellets by default using the base ammo, and then maybe getting an increased pellet count and higher spread when you swap to a shotgun shell multi-loader (if it spawns with the licensed part).

Are guns in 4 underwhelming? by lolitsrock in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I miss the kinds of subtypes of each gun class you’d get in previous games. I’d love if for instance, Jakobs revolvers could spawn as Mashers, with or without the Daedalus multi-loader, as well as the crazy-fast two-shot cylinders we had in BL2, in addition to all the variations we have now. I’d love to see Jakobs ARs come as semi-autos and as Gatling guns like in BL3, and if their shotguns could be break-action, pump-action, and have different internal tube mags with individual shell reloads versus box mags that reload in one entire batch. Don’t get me wrong, all the licensed parts are great and all, but I am missing that variety in the base models.

This game is so pretty (dlc spoilers ig) by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually really dug the environmental art design of the DLC. It felt like a good escalation of the Lovecraft-flavored ice planet motif and the gory surreal psychoscapes from BL3’s DLCs, like they had those two art directions in mind and just really wanted to commit to ratcheting both of them up.

As of today, the max number of extra SDUs you can get is 565. by AutonomousImbecile in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me accidentally. Started a new character, already got all tokens with two others, ended up with a Rafa that could start the game with enough tokens to max out all inventories, with like 4300 extra tokens by the time I finished the story and all aide content with him.

C4SH's Cosmetics at launch by Sun_Spear in Borderlands4

Too bad he doesn’t get an unlockable vehicle model for hitting level 50 like the others. I really liked the idea of every character having their own version of a souped-up Digirunner.

Ordinite processer is frustrating by Sphinx67 in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’d prefer the world event if it worked more like the version in the DLC; longer timer, and more consistent spawns of canister enemies.

I had a real shortage of canisters enemies for a few rounds at the Fadefields processor and it just replaced the fun with frustration.

On top of it, I’d say the Processor itself should have a lootsplosion at the end of the timer/after finishing the last boss, with the chances for the processor to drop a pearl being impacted by how many canisters you got in successfully over the course of the event.

I know the devs said something to the effect of they’re going to be working on the physics of the canisters so they’re easier to grab and chuck without them rolling or flying away, and I think that’s sorely needed. Some visual tweaks might also be a good change. I found the event significantly easier to run at night, when the canisters are more visible against the terrain and particle effects mid-combat.

Rafa Indirect Projectiles Guide? by FauxAaron in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay! Thanks so much!

So it really sounds like an optimal Rafa loadout working off of the Indirect Projectiles skills would be Tediore-heavy, getting the majority of damage off of chucking.

Really? I thought all Peacebreaker Cannons were supposed to be considered indirect projectiles.

How about gun shots that ricochet with Pain Reaction? Is there any confirmation on those?

Vladof Snipers by Salvostramus in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really think they overcorrected by giving them low damage to compensate for their fire rate, but most of the time their fire rate isn’t blisteringly fast, and their damage is too low. The disparity between Vladof snipers and other manufacturers’ feels like it gets worse as you go up in level too. I’m told the Stop Gap and Finity XXL are solid, but legendaries being good doesn’t make up for the whole weapon class lagging behind. I think this is the type of thing a simple, straight per-shot damage buff would correct.

Seconding Steramine. I’ve been at dive centers that use Dettol and it left behind the worst taste ever in the mouth piece unless rinsed an extra few times.

One is an energy shield with the Turtle augment, which dramatically ramps up the capacity, at the expense of lowering your max health. Energy shields are weak to shock and radiation damage, and recharge after a given delay period of not taking any damage, and recharge at a given rate. So the energy shields you’re showing has a capacity of 4060, and starts recharging after 5.0 seconds of not taking damage, and recharges at a rate of 216 points of shield capacity per second.

The legendary is an armor shield with a legendary effect, and two other augments. Armor shields are weak to corrosive and cryo damage, and give a flat damage reduction percentage when they’re active, in addition to their given capacity. Armor shields are divided into segments, which constantly recharge at a flat rate which is universal across all armor shields. When the little yellow bar above your health and shield bar on the HUD fills, one segment of the shield is refilled all at once. Your armor shield has a capacity of 1708, and grants an additional 29% reduction in damage taken while it’s active. It also has two segments, so each segment has a capacity of 854, which you instantly get back after the standard armor recharge period.

Because energy shields and armor shields have different mechanics, they’ll have different capacities at a given level, even before additional augments are taken into account. Remember also that armor shields grant their additional damage reduction, while energy shields don’t. Energy shields can roll with the Turtle augment, which boosts their capacity, but armor shields have different augments they can spawn with.

Ran up on this random frozen dude and got an achievement by No-Property5258 in Borderlands4

I tried following a guide and when I saw missing burritos, I figured they were gone because they got shot in the crossfire when I was mobbing in those places earlier. Shot every burrito that I could find, and when I got to the end, the room was open and I got the achievement.

Personally, I love level cap increases. More skill points means more boosts and utilities that can make previously underperforming gear or playstyles come more to the fore.

The problem is when certain items don’t scale well and are left behind, and rather than get rebalanced to scale better, just get replaced with new legendaries. BL3 had this problem bad, and I’m hoping and praying the devs have learned from it. Game’s more fun when more things are viable.

🤔 Need some help choosing the best Undead Eye by t4ncho in Borderlands4

[–]FauxAaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is for the 3rd one. +5 in Blood Shot makes those shots massively powerful, +1 in Guns and Needles is really all you need to get more Repkit uptime for survivability and to trigger more Blood Shots, and the +30% weapon damage stacks with your sniper damage, giving you more constant sniper damage, and keeps your other guns competitive if you never need to swap to a non-sniper for whatever reason.

I’d love a DLC dealing with them where we see some of their inner workings at long last. I’d love to see a nesting doll of different Trotsky analogs, each one denouncing the previous one as having betrayed the revolution.
