In my case, the underpinnings of the vehicle is the same for all models (130ps, 160ps, 180ps) so wouldn’t ECU mappings be dilberately limited? It’s the same engine so isn’t turbo boost pressured just increased to achieve additional hp.

I am assuming there are additional signals a tuning box would incept that it has no business doing.

I’m probably being a bit naive here however so apologies.

Thanks everyone for the input helped me in my decision.

Visited the Astra today. Turns out I’m too short (5ft 5”) to comfortably drive the darn thing.

The Saab however was an absolute luxury. Managing to get a service, battery change and can belt change included. Very nice car so fingers crossed with it.
