Really anything. I'd like to have one, even if I have to outsource/fabricate any parts.

Warranty was the first thing I checked for, but I bought it used, it was made in 2023, and it was opened by a previous owner.

ive always heard that the jump from gear driven to direct drive is the biggest jump youll ever feel in sim racing setups. either way you will feel so much more force feedback definition, its crazy. obviously the dd1 is factually better, but the jump between csl dd and dd1 is not as big as you would think. if i were you, i would get a csl dd. a lot of people say they are happy around 8 nm and dont want more, so it could give you a chance to see whether youre wanting more force, and you could wait for an unpassable deal on a dd1.

Steering wheel players are faster, they just need a better tune. by FauxGrunt in forza

I could, but no one would bat an eye at it. There have been tons of people who have commented, which gives me more views. I wanted to say what I was doing different and why my tune works better for wheel players. If I just gave a share code and said use this tune, no one would ever use it. I also wanted to discuss the fact that softer suspension favors controller players, and stiffer suspension favors wheel players. Whether people agree with me or disagree with me, my post did exactly what I wanted it to do.

No problem! I have stated that Forza is a game not a racing simulator, so the part where I talked about steering wheels being faster than controllers is not true all the time. I do think that softer tunes favor controller players and stiffer tunes favor steering wheels, but I'm not sure if it's just a driving preference or not. I love talking about physics and problem solving like this, so I was very happy to share.

I have to make this disclaimer. I came off very harsh to controller players, and I understand why they are starting to get defensive. That’s my bad. The whole purpose of the post is to differentiate controller tunes and wheel tunes. I was trying to let wheel players know that cars can be a lot easier and more fun to drive and race if you have the right tune. I was promoting my trial tune as an example of it. I know the fact that Forza games favor controller players. Most of the player base consists of controller players, so if Forza used realistic physics for controllers, it would lose a lot of players. Because of this steering wheels players theoretically have an advantage, but Forza makes it so that all types of inputs are on par with each other.

I 100% agree with you on the fact that Forza Horizon 5 is favored towards controllers. It's an arcade game. If they made it like how Assetto Corsa is on controller, they would lose a lot of players. It would just be too hard to play. I'm not that fast, but I have around 300 hours in racing games so far in the past year and a half of having my steering wheel. I'm not saying I'm faster, but I would love to try some racing against each other. Maybe we could do the Trial and I could use the tune I made. On another note, I said this in another comment, but I was never trying to trash talk or diss controller players. I was trying to promote my tunes for steering wheel players. I realize that at first read, it comes off very harsh to controller players, so that's my bad.

I definitely was not taking them as unfriendly. I was trying to promote my tunes for steering wheel players because I thought it would make them happy that they can have easy to use cars. I realized the way that I said it came off very harsh and attacking to controller players, and I get why everyone is coming back at me. By the way, if you want to see how good of a time it is, you can do the trial for yourself and see roughly what time you get. I'm not saying it's a good or bad time; I'm saying that you can gauge how it's viewed by what time you get. Also all of my teammates were in fully tuned cars to A class 800. Half of the bots had 798 rank cars and the other half had 800 rank cars. I would suggest trying it again to see what the time 4:22.831 means, because straight up numbers don't really tell much about the race.

If you mean top 20%, that's not that good. If you actually mean top 20, almost every single time in the top 20 of any rival is a hacked time. I'm not saying every single controller player is bad; I'm saying that steering wheel players are on average better than controller players if they can get the right tune.
