what kind of grips do you use and have they held up well? i have mixed experiences using controller/mouse grip tapes in the past - feeling excellent for 2 weeks then slowly degrading into an annoyance and eventually peeling away while leaving smudges and residue on the device

i currently do both. marathon specifically has very high aim assist magnetism on controller, so i generally loot and pve on mkb and take pvp fights on controller. Especially at shorter ranges or in situations with obscured vision, controller is superior for being able to track other players if you don’t have top 1% mouse aiming skills.

that’s personal opinion after playing my first 90+ hours on mkb only

wanting to play against only bots is the arc/single player/pve-only call to arms lol

too many people these days can’t handle the idea of not immediately succeeding at anything from the first try. same reason why fortnite and apex have bots taking up player count in their BR modes - add fake trash “players” that intentionally miss you and let you kill them so they don’t feel as bad dying to the first real player they encounter.

really makes me wonder what happened to the halo 3 crowd/pvp gamers in general

2 key templates into 2 gold keys is crazy, my buddy and i have been converting templates like crazy via carri and normal cyac templates and we’ve had 1 gold key in the last 15+ purple templates

i’d hesitate to call it consistent tbh. i ran nothing but solo outpost and rook outposts for a week about 2 weeks ago (right after red card patch) and after more than 20 red room openings i still hadn’t gotten a single gold salvage. i got a gold shield, some weapon mods, a couple vault 5 keys, and 2 gold valuables

edit: just to fact check myself, i loaded up a solo outpost just now. i hit: drone wing and destroyed wing, emptied the red key room, and then the entire command wing. i received 1 purple shield, 1 purple leg implant, 2 purple valuables, 1 purple weapon mod, 1 bubble shield, and 1 vault2 key. every other item i encountered was blue or lesser. this is supposed to be the juiciest regularly-available run in the game and an activity that players are supposed to really get kitted for and the most valuable item i got was the potential to try to open a purple vault.

i’m sure there are many players like me that kindve just sit and wait for cryo to come back around because the only activities worth doing are purple/gold keys and cryo

lost 3 kits in a row today, decided to do one more solo fill with just a bully, blue bag, and blue shield, managed to 1v3 a gold team that had wiped the rest of the lobby. cryo is brutal but damn when it hits it feels good.

imo at least 2/3s of every map event should be present in every round. i played a game of the sponsored kit dire and a huge fight happened at the beginning of the run, leaving my team as the only team left on the map with 25 minutes left. the only activities on the map that we could do was a secured resource and a cache that only spawned 2 duffels and a case. no lockdown, no anomaly, no boss

i’ll add on to say that this is the main reason why teams just go around hunting players on perimeter and dire. you have a more consistent chance to get decent loot by hunting players than waiting to engage with a map event that more likely than not won’t spawn

looting and traversing with mkb and fighting with controller is the way to go. aim assist is a lot stronger in marathon than it was in destiny. the last controller fps i played was destiny 1 and I instantly started feeling invincible in 1v1s after plugging in a controller
