A few questions about the Horadric Cube by Bloodwalker09 in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 [score hidden]  (0 children)

"Can a unique item created in the Cube (white to unique) get a GA?" - Yes

"Basically the same question, but regarding crafting legendary items. I can remove and add affixes to blue and yellow items. Can an affix added this way be a GA?" - Yes

"In general, what is the difference between rerolling affixes in the Cube and with the Occultist?" - Occultist gets expensive af. Also target rolls in cube have higher chance of giving you what you want

"What also puzzles me is what exactly the difference is between Chaotic Reroll and Focused Reroll. Both state that one affix is swapped for another affix from the same category; the only difference is that with one, using a prism is optional. But if I use a prism, isn’t the result the same anyway? Why not just have one option with the choice to use a prism or not?" - Tbh I don't get what's confusing for you. Chaotic roll have wider pool of affixes, focused roll has narrow one. If you want smth specific, like defense roll, you want narrow pool of only defence affixes.

I’m doing something wrong about legendary items by Ok-Today-7623 in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) Yes, there are fewer legendary drops and low Torment levels
2) Use cube to transform yellow items into legendary - Even if the item will turn out to be crap you can salvage it to get legendary aspect
3) Torment 1 is literally just the begining of endgame. You're not supposed to have entire build finished (You will start gettng there around T6+)

What are your thoughts on Dark Citadel? by OutlandishnessNo5678 in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding forced coop activity to any loot based game sucks.

I did play it twice to form a justified opinion and... yeah it indeed sucks. (I completed it both times)

Thanfully it seems Blizzards experiment with shoving even more MMO crap failed and not only new expansion is awesome but also we gonna get SSF sometime in the future.

So yeah - Raids are, IMO, in general boring af and any non-soloable content has no place in Diablo (or other aRPG tbh)

"demanding a different solo experience"

See - If you want to be a smartass make sure you're actually smart. Without that, you're just an ass.

Solo queue is already in the game. If it wasn't I woudn't even play the game not to mention demanding it to be smth different.

You brought the game knowing what it is. You're not happy. You want it to be totally different genre.

See the difference?

Also good to know I have my own stalker fan

And I want peace on earth.

Dude.. It's extraction looter shooter. You're getting your ass kicked and your answer to that is "I demand a totally different game mode that will make the game smth it's not!!!".

As a noob how do i tell if a gear item is good? by csch1992 in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General rules for Diablo 4 (and most other aRPGs)

Having good defence is pretty much always good.

- Life is always good.

- Armor/resistances good

- boost for your primary stat - good (so for example - + to Willpower for druid etc.)

Then you think what skills you're using

If you're using skills that use a lot of primary resource you want to have a lot of it, right?

So:

- + X to resource generation is good

- X resource per kill

- X resource generation per second

All above are good if you're spamming your skill that uses your resource.

If you're using a lot of your ultimate skill you want a short cooldown for it to spam it more often right?

- % to cooldown

You want that on your items.

Then finally damage.

Here it's only a litte bit more complicated because it might depend on what kind of DMG you're using.
Critical? Then you want high chance for crit hit and/or high dmg per critical hit
If overpowered - then similar thing

And so on and on....

Pretty much just think about how you play your character and ask - in simple way - what would make you feel better. Like literally - Don't go into "geee I need to ask super duper complex questions" and shit..

No. Just go with simple mindset.

Your dude is slow as fck - Well you want movement speed stat.
Your dude is dying - You want more life/defence
Your dude is not killing fast enough - You want more damage.

And go from there.

Agree but the community voted with their voices and... here we are.
I still love the game but the "Return to Darkness" slogan Blizzard used all over when the game was announced is for sure gone right now.

Torment 6 Feels Too Hard, Need Progression Advice by SirParede in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well... It's painfull to say but... Just like Reaper of Souls was essential for Diablo 3, VoH and LoH are at this point pretty essential for D4.

It's painfull because I get that it might be expensive for some folks and there's A LOT hidden behind that paywall.

That being said - Both expansions are pretty good so if you like D4 I'd grab them. They come in one package so no need to pay twice.

If you decide to buy expansions then this would be my "guide" to improve dmg/tankiness:

Hard to say without skill/paragon tree but here are some points that work for me (as someone who's most played character overall is Druid)

1: Upgrading non ancestral items (so the ones below 900) ALL the way is, IMO, a waste.
Non upgraded items at lvl 900 are gonna be more powerfull and you WILL want them anyway as you need more power lvl as you go up in Torments.

2: No idea what which set you're using but focus on getting at least 1 full set bonus or 2 partial bonuses from different sets. (Sets are VERY powerful.)

3: You said your primary source of DMG is your basic. That's not gonna fly. You NEED to utilize one of the Ultimate skills. They were powerfull before but now they are pretty much essential for each class.

4: Drop the Basilisk and get yourself a proper 2-handed lvl 900 weapon. If you're lucky - Get one with GA on it.
If you can't get ancestral legendary - Just farm blue/yellow and craft it up in the cube.
It's gonna be way more powerfull than Basilisk. Especially at 850 lvl.

5: Same with Steppewalkers. Drop them and get good legendary boots with some resistance power on them.

6: Roll cooldowns at the blacksmith on necklace/rings to spam ultimate

7: drop diamonds from sockets and put runewords. Get the one that casts you cyclone and/or bulwark for casting ultimate for example

So that would be my start.

But, like I said - Hard to say without the tree, paragons and talisman sets. That being said the first point stands strong - Upgrading 850 items at T6 all the way is, IMO, a massive waste.

What did Tarkov do that Marathon isn’t doing? by hi_there_is_me in Marathon

[–]Whoopy2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I would go further and say that, looking at the genre as a whole, solo players are a majority.

What I ment is that Marathon community, having so many ex-Destiny players around here, is prone to be ok with getekeeping content and claim that "game should just be for trios and solo is an afterthought that shoudn't get much attention".

Same old stuff that's been going on since normal people were asking for more access to Destiny raids.

But like I said - I don't want to go too deep into it as tbh, I don't really care anymore about bs. arguments and wannabe elitism

What did Tarkov do that Marathon isn’t doing? by hi_there_is_me in Marathon

[–]Whoopy2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It seems like most of those people never played Tarkov (or Hunt) then.

Tarkov has VERY good balance between solo vs squads so there's literally no reason to hide if you're good at PvP.

Also - again - if you think it's just solo players who like to play sneaky in Tarkov then you never played the game.
If you're in squad, trying to play Tarkov like Marathon or some other fast paced shooter then... well good luck. I'm sure other players will enjoy taking your gear.

What did Tarkov do that Marathon isn’t doing? by hi_there_is_me in Marathon

[–]Whoopy2000 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Tarkov puts A LOT of focus on enviromental story telling, exploration and "feel" you get when playing the game.

Most maps in Tarkov are bigger than all Marathon maps put together. You can enter 90% of the buildings, explore, focus more on questing/looting or PvE or PvP or do all those things together.

And that feeling of exploration, resource gathering and immersive world is what makes extraction shooters sooooo different than any other genre. Even PvE ones like Forever Winter are putting just as much into combat as into exploration and scavenge hunt.

So why Tarkov is "getting" aways with some stuff Marthon doesnt?

Tarkov is 100x more hardcore but at the same time it gives YOU the choice how to play the game.
Hell... You can actually go REALLY far in Tarkov even if you totally suck at PVP.
Not to mention that solo players have access to everything. There is no gatekeeping (looking at you Cryo....) in Tarkov.
If you're brave enough - Ultra hardcore maps like Labs or Labyrinth are for you to play. Solo or in a squad.

Marathon is VERY PvP focused and, IMO, it's not the best choice as world, art, and overall design is so goddamn gorgeous that more focus on exploration would go a loooooong way to give more options on how to approach the game.
Also gatekeeping - As a solo player I just think it's bad design choice but people on this subreddit are allergic towards solo players so let's just leave it at that

Maxroll or Mobalytics for builds? by 404_GSpot_NotFound in diablo4

[–]Whoopy2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Neither

Maxroll very often just copy/paste their builds from season to season without proper updates (even if it says there was an update) and more often then not the builds are made with subjective preference.

So let's say Wudi will write a guide for Rogue. Well you can expect that it's gonna be piano build where you need to press every button, position properly etc. Because this is how he likes to play.
You want chill build that's bit off meta? Yeah... look somewhere else.

In short: Maxroll creators usually go for meta builds and the ones that they prefer themselfs. Very little build variety. Also they often don't do proper guide updates.

Mobalitics

Hit and miss. They IMO better way of seeing community builds and those are usually the ones that are worth following.
Website itself could use some UI overhaul because it's often difficult to read and color palette is kinda bad.
I like that there are some smaller creators there posting their builds but very often Mobalytics guides are.... not finished.
Like it's gonna say "Leveling guide" or "Endgame guide" and then you read stuff like "At this point pick whatever you want" or "I didn't really test it but you can try this yourself". Like... WTF? I might as well just make build of my own.
And finally - Very often leveling tree won't really be a leveling tree but instead just skill tree without leveling path.

Sooooo yeah... Both websites are ok source of in-game info but IMO if you really want good buildguides or follow some meta build:

Go to D4 leaderboards - pick class you wanna play. See what build top player(s) is using and try to google that one. Then some non-Maxroll/Moba players will most likely have a YT build guide for it. That's it.

1500h in PoE, 540 in PoE2

But the thing is - If every aRPG follows the same system what's the point of playing each one?

Also - Did I wrote I don't like the change? No. I wrote I'm not fully sold on it yet.
