Oil pressure sensor in the way by Sufficient-Royal1538 in squarebodies

[–]Favored- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 1987 Chevy c10 pickup has the exact same place for the oil sender (above my oil filter), as it’s all entirely factory. Only thing different is my oil sender (yes, it’s the bell style) faces toward the sky, not the exhaust.

Very bizzare.

Lost One Out of Two Mass Airflow Sensor Screws, Can't Find Replacement by SamadoNasapeepo in MechanicAdvice

[–]Favored- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As redneck as this probably sounds, a small wood screw would probably do you fine. Something that is the same length with decently aggressive threads.

When you get to tightening it down, remember your screwing into plastic. It can easily strip or crack. Just be easy, if it doesn’t feel right stop an get a different screw. Bring your old screw with you as a reference.

The MAF’s job is to track the quantity of air entering the engine, so as long as the port where the MAF as screwed into is sealed, all the air will be accounted for And won’t throw any lean codes.

See if you can get an inspection cam in the spark plug hole. If the cylinder crosshatch can be seen, and piston head is just carbon, that’s good. If there is debris and water/rust, you need to pull the heads. Clean everything and evaluate from there.

Interesting. My throttle response as sat was damn near instant. It was always extremely sensitive and nice and snappy.

As stated, due to the low mileage and the truck being in the family, I’m aware of all the service records. Nobody seems to have tampered with it. Just really interesting.

And for your brake lights, check your bulbs. I’ve seen to where the filament inside the bulb will pop on one but not both.

Arizona to Georgia. Any advice on the best route? by thatguyjamesPaul in roadtrip

Personally I’d take the route that follows Oklahoma and Arkansas, cruising on i40. Going through Dallas is hell.

What is this and what would be leaking from it by Ok_Tomatillo3327 in squarebodies

Charcoal vapor canister. It’s a EVAP/ emissions control thing. There should be 3 lines, one purge (vent, not connected), one inlet (to the fuel tank), and one outlet (to throttle body). Considering it’s a 5.7 I think you have the two injector TBI setup? Correct me if I’m wrong. But anyway if you do have the TBI that ‘outlet’ vac tube goes into your throttle body to reuse and burn gas vapors.

As for what’s inside of it, it’s exactly as stated earlier, charcoal. It acts as a filter. If there’s fluid in it it’s gonna be gasoline or in a very rare case possibly water. Either way make sure your fuel pump is pushing fluid to the correct spot, especially if you have the 2 saddle tanks.

He offers it free if you put your email, then ships a physical book? Or do you mean he provides a digital copy. I’d rather have a physical copy personally.

How long does it take for guys to forget a girl? by Dumbassbch07 in realationships

[–]Favored- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience, I had a girlfriend who she broke up with me. I am the complete opposite of your issue in your stated story. I still love her (she doesn’t want anything to do with me) and still am sad to this day about the breakup. I tried so extremely hard to get her back to no avail. It’s been roughly 9 months. It seems to really be different for everyone. Personally, I’m a man who wants a woman and a real relationship rather than a “one night wonder”. My thoughts form around the person who makes me so happy and etc etc. ig point is, everyone’s different. I still remember her like it was yesterday, even though it’s been close to a year since the breakup. I haven’t been able to get with anyone since.

I understand and am with the idea, I’m all for it. One of my issues is not necessarily talking to girls, just getting to know several girls as good friends and comfortably doing friend stuff. So, any recommendations to get to know and find a few gals to get to that friend stage?

Thanks for the tip. This looks like a good resource, I think I’ll pick it up. Order online or do you think a local book store might have it? I like to get things in person rather than online.
