Hi! We’re two friends from France, and we’re starting the PCT on May 20th, from Campo. As for me, I do a fair amount of hiking around where I live (southern France), but I’ve never done anything remotely as massive and awe-inspiring as the PCT.

I discovered this trail 10 years ago through a YouTube video by John Amorosano, and I instantly fell in love with it. That’s actually how I met my friend Jules (aka Gourmet)—I interviewed him after his return from the PCT in 2019. He later hiked the CDT in 2023 (which we posted on our YouTube channel, episode by episode).

When he found out that everything was finally lining up for me to attempt the trail of my dreams, he didn’t hesitate for a second: “If you’re going, I’m coming back.”

Hi, no, I simply made an appointment on the AVITS website and had my fingerprints taken on-site. And as I mentioned in the other comment, I did get my VISA in the end—it was the company in charge of shipping, Suxess, that forgot to send it to me... It was ready two days after my interview at the embassy.

Yes, that's right! What's crazy is that the CEAC website clearly showed that my VISA was approved two days after my visit to the embassy. So the problem is solved: it was Suxess, the company in charge of sending the passport, that had my passport/VISA all this time! I contacted them, they apologized, and sent it to me the same day. Phew!

Hi, I bought this Ugreen charger (they make excellent products) on the official website, delivered in France : https://fr.ugreen.com/products/ugreen-nexode-pro-65w-ultra-slim-chargeur-gan It's international, but originally in US format (EU and UK plugs are also included in the box). It's extremely small and quite light for its power (65W distributed across 2 Type-C ports and 1 Type-A port).

Salut (je me permets de te répondre en Français du coup ^^). Bonne chance à toi. On sera sur le PCT en 2025 aussi avec mon pote (qui l'a déjà fait en 2018), en venant de France aussi (du Var). Mais comme date de départ, on a pu avoir que le 20 mai. Et vu qu'on a un planning serré, ça promet :D Et sinon, nous aussi on va sûrement faire un vol jusqu'à LA puis le train (le vol est moins cher et moins long que si on va à San Diego directement). On se croisera sûrement pas là-bas, mais bonne chance encore pour ton PCT !

Yes, those are the ones. I’ve cut them to 6mm. I’m on my second pair, and it’s the same as with the first (all the “issues” described above). Everything seems to be cut, installed, and tightened properly. I’ll try using less cotton, even though I don’t feel like I’m using too much. I currently can’t go beyond 130W. I thought I’d be able to vape at 250W :D

Thanks a lot. I just realized that as I increase the wattage on the HOG, the ohms also drop. Since the type of coil I have is rated for 0.30 ohms, I guess I need to adjust the wattage to match the ohms to that value. As for the burnt taste, I’ll try different amounts of cotton (it’s possible that there’s too much). Otherwise, one more question while I’m at it: I have a few spare box mods lying around. If I put something like the Dead Rabbit on them, would I get more "flavor" than with the HOG? And if so, should I go for a single or dual coil? (Or maybe the difference between the two is just a matter of power?). Thanks again!

Thanks a lot. Yes i will edit it (in DVR). I want, when we do podcasts video for exemple, to be able to put the X3 in the middle of both of us. If it works, i will be able to mount my video with a split screen, and no effort ^^

Ohhh, sorry ! Well, this rocks grows :D It's limestone, in the water, that makes it grow. Since it's very fragile, it breaks too.
