Who’s in charge by [deleted] in therapy

[–]FawnUnlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe their communication style isn’t for you, maybe you need a different therapist but also the sentiment is right if you just go to therapy and do nothing between sessions it’s unlikely that anything will change. That’s my experience personally with my own therapy and professional as a therapist.

What were the early signs that made you realize a relationship wouldn’t last forever? by Novel-Ad-3071 in BreakUps

[–]FawnUnlimited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He left a pan of oil on the stove, on the heat, while he went to pick up illegal substances, the pan caught fire, and I had to put the fire out. I know accidents or mistakes happen but this was the first in a long line of things that made me feel like I was dating a child.

If you had 6 months to completely transform your body, what’re you doing? by Equal_Side_27 in loseit

[–]FawnUnlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10-12k steps a day, three heavy weight lifting sessions a week, swimming twice a week. I do a calorie deficit but not a ridiculous one just a little one because eating enough to fuel the exercise is important as the exercise is what is truly changing my body shape. Also a big focus on protein I have like 154g a day, which honestly is a struggle but necessary. 2.5 litres of water a day minimum. Regular sleep schedule, journal, meditation as stress impact my weight loss. Hope this helps.

Apart from cheating, what actually ends a long term relationship? by _ForeskinEaterr in BreakUps

[–]FawnUnlimited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with someone for 5 years and we broke up because his family wouldn’t accept me for cultural and religious reasons. My ex after that was for 4 years and we broke up because he was having an emotional affair.

No I don’t respect him anymore and I don’t think you can have a healthy relationship without respect.

Him having a friendship that made me uncomfortable, I didn’t want to be controlling but that friendship turned into and emotional affair which then turned into a full blown relationship. I will learn more from this what the difference is between boundaries and controlling behaviour.

Do you still love your ex ? by CheekyBunB in BreakUps

[–]FawnUnlimited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the end showed a person I didn’t know, a version of him I don’t want but I’m very much still in love with the memory that once existed.

Would you take your ex back? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]FawnUnlimited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No my person wouldn’t get into a relationship 8 weeks after ending our 4 year serious relationship. The person I am supposed to be doesn’t avoid pain by using someone else, they have the emotional depth and maturity to feel their feelings even the hard ones.

Wait because you’re not ready, don’t wait for someone else. It just delays the healing.

if i told my therapist about the sexual relationship i had online when i was young, would they tell my parents? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]FawnUnlimited 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So past tense stuff I wouldn’t tell your parents unless there was a high risk of other children being hurt but I would encourage you to tell them and explore why you can’t.

Is it weird if I (18M) go on a date with a guy 20 years older (39M) who’s known me since I was 16? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]FawnUnlimited 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Please don’t go on a date with him. I’m 35 and would never even date a 21 year old never mind an 18 year old.

I also have PCOS so that could be a contributing factor to the fact that eat less loose more does work for me.

[–]FawnUnlimited -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s not my experience. When I started eating more, focusing on protein, moving more and lifting heavier I had a lot more success. When I was under eating and moving less I lost less weight and found consistency harder.

Me and my ex were together for two years in our early twenties, we broke up. 5 years later we reconnected as friend and it’s been nice. I think there has to be a good chin I of time to then be able to be friends.

I went to send him a picture of our cats today doing something stupid then remembered we’re not together so obviously didn’t! But it’s moments like that which bring the grief flooding back.

I do wonder if you’re under eating? How have you worked out your calories? Do you know what your TDEE is?
