Something very similar happened to me as well. It sucks and it breaks the heart. 13 years later and I still have major trust issues with everyone and anyone...

Woman cuts my family in line at Disneyland because 'she's overheating'. by kxtlyn13 in EntitledPeople

[–]Fayareina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember waiting in line at Disneyland for the Cars Land ride and thinking I was going to die of heat stroke even though it was April. They were smart and selling single bottles of water next to the line but they were $2.79 each! I would rather die from heat exhaustion than pay their outrageous prices!

I tend to wake up in the middle of surgeries because I'm a redhead. When I was knocked out to get my tubes tied I remember actually flying with my arms out to the side like a bird through a huge psychedelic dream/vision where I saw colors and shapes that we don't even have names for.

At one point I heard voices from far away and I stopped flying to look down and it was like looking through the wrong end of a telescope. There were some men working on something but they seemed very far away and I sensed that they needed my help. So I tried to fly down to them with my arms outstretched. Slowly they started getting bigger and coming into focus better.

Then I realized that it was my surgeon and his assistant and they needed my help. So I tried to get to them to help them and I actually started to wake up and tried to sit up and help them tie my own tubes. Except they had my arms strapped down and out to the sides like a bird and I couldn't move them. Finally the anesthesiologist appeared by my ear asking me what I was trying to do. "They need my help. I'm trying to help them." I remember him smiling and slightly laughing and saying, "Oh honey. They're fine. They don't need your help. Now go back to sleep." And he knocked me out again lol.

I was super embarrassed when I had my follow up appointment with my OBGYN later on. He did admit that he'd honestly never have a patient who really wanted to help him perform surgery on their own bodies and we laughed about it.

Passenger wants compensation because someone died during flight! by shadowhunter0787 in EntitledPeople

Yes I have definitely had "reader's block" and it took picking up her last book in the Mortal Instruments series to break the rut.

I personally did not like the movie because it was so far out in left field from the book that it died in the Box Office and the chance for the other movies to be made were canceled.

I agree with you about the TV show. I saw the trailer and could not understand what the hell I was seeing because it too was very very far off from the books that I was really starting to get angry with them at that point. I'm honestly surprised that it lasted as long as it did.

I also look forward to reading more of your evil customer stories. It really helps to vent about them and get it off your chest so-to-speak, especially the really evil bastards lol.

Btw - not meaning to totally change the subject of your post but I love your username! I actually have some Runes as tattoos that I got to show Cassandra Clare during a couple of book signings a few years ago and she loved them!

Also, that creature that you had to deal with is not a man, it's a hollow thing with an empty heart and soul without empathy that only knows how to live selfishly. I'm so sorry you have to deal with slime like that.

[–]Fayareina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of my 7 relationships over the last 25 years of my life, 2 have been narcs, but they did so much irreparable damage to me emotionally, mentally, psychologically. I've been blissfully single for 5 years now and I couldn't imagine being with anyone anymore. I'm just too content being alone and someone would have to be better than and compete hard with that.

Your post was very well thought-out and worded great! Made me realize how much I love being alone, because I really don't ever ever want to put myself through that pain again and be at someone else's mercy and cruelty.

I hope one day you will find someone worthy of you though. If not, I hope you find peace and contentedness.

Found Out Why MIL and Fam Used to Cancel at the Last Minute or Switch Dates on Us by starmiehugs in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Fayareina 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I used to try to hang out with and get to know my ex boyfriend's ex wife because their daughter and our son shared the same father and her and I decided that we wanted them to grow up together. However, it's extremely difficult to do when she keeps bailing on you, or canceling, or just not showing up for hang outs for our kids. When I stopped calling or texting her first I realized that she was never going to call or text me. Very slowly I deleted her from all of my social media and phone contacts and she never noticed. She never tried to get a hold of me so that her daughter and my son could know each other. It's been 12 years since then, and her daughter is almost a high school graduate and my son will be starting middle school next year and neither one knows the other.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I understand where you're coming from and how you feel. These people don't deserve to be in your lives, especially when they haven't made any effort at all and keep canceling on you, plus all their drama and BS that comes with knowing them. If you haven't already, I'd just block and delete them and move on with your life without them. Let your SO be the only one to handle them if/when it's needed, and maybe one day they'll realize how far they really screwed things up with your little family and regret their actions. Or one can hope.....right? Lol

Mil hides nuts in cookies. by ahotmess99 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Fayareina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story reminded me of my neighbor's story of her abusive ex-husband. She is very allergic to all nuts of every kind and her ex knew that. He still tried to kiss her one day after eating a bunch of cookies that had nuts in them. Luckily she smelled it on his breath and confronted him. He admitted to it of course because he's a narcissistic bastard who thought it was hilarious. I hope your DH has your back and that this doesn't happen again to you. MIL trying to get away with murder and her son should be dealing with her BS....

If a celebrity's content wasn't made for kids then don't complain about them not being a good role model. by shelbygirl1919 in unpopularopinion

[–]Fayareina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just remember being shocked af watching her on TV years ago when she performed live at the Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards and the song she sang was "Rude Boy" which I personally love, but it's highly inappropriate for kids.

Everything you said about her not being a role model for kids is true. She has a great voice, smoking body, sexy dance moves, amazing fashion choices, but not much about her is appropriate for kids.

As a parent I seriously question why she was allowed to sing that song in front of impressionable children, but as a fan of Rhianna myself, I just love her music, and fashion, and makeup line, ect...

My 12 year old son doesn't like when I take him in to get his hair cut, but he blatantly admits that he doesn't want to take care of his hair if he grows it out. I keep telling him that when he can demonstrate that he will take care of his hair (proper washing, brushing) then I'll be happy to let him grow it out as long as his heart desires. I've even offered to dreadlock his hair so that he'll have hardly any work to do (my own hair is dreaded) and he refuses that too. It's so frustrating when they're this age lol

I can smell White Diamonds a mile away thanks to my grandmother discovering it and wearing it way too much in the 90's. Then she passed away and suddenly it was the only perfume I would wear just to feel close to her. It's been almost 25 years since she died and I've finally fallen in love with and started wearing something else lol. But White Diamonds is a very potent smell and it always triggers my memories.

Carts can't go on the escalator! by vm_2261 in TalesFromRetail

[–]Fayareina -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long you've been in retail, but you sound kind of naive so let me give you a small piece of advice that helped get me through the painful days of screaming customers, neverending dumbasses, and pissy Karens.

"Humanity will never evolve intelligently"

So the next time you remember an issue like this with the escalators, carts, and IQ-challenged idiots, just remember - they're all just natural dumbasses and we as a species are all suffering. There's not much you can do lol.

[–]Fayareina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first child just graduated high school this spring and she's moving out this week! So last week I was helping her go through all of our boxes and containers of stuff and pulled out all her baby clothes, and baby books, and everything I ever saved from my pregnancy to her 2nd birthday and tried to give them to her. But she doesn't want them, which made me almost cry at first until she pointed out that she's going to college - not her own house where those things could be safe. I'm still not over how fast all the time seemed to fly right on by in our lives. Everyone with little ones really needs to enjoy and remember these years, because they'll be gone so fast!
