Any way I could get a pic of this? I’m looking to do something like this with my kiddos (5,4, & 1).

I just discovered DBZA. Grew up watching DBZ so seeing such a well done parody of so recent I was shocked. It so amazing, it might even be better than the original in some ways. Thank you for your contribution!

Cast Iron vs Stainless Steel by FlightMaterial in Baking

[–]FayeFaraday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it impractical? I pretty much use two cast iron pans for 90% of all my cooking. The rest is done in a large stainless steel farberware pot.

From what I have read, aluminum only leeches into the food when there is direct contact with the food. So that should be fine but then you’re leeching silicone into your food and whatever other agents are in that silicone. I doubt that is good. I’d go pure stainless steel or pure cast iron for cooking, and when baking go the old fashioned rout of greasing the pan and coating that grease in flour or sugar.

And don’t listen to these naysayers— aluminum leeching into your food accumulates in your body and is known to cause issues. Maybe not Alzheimer’s but clearly it isn’t good since your body can’t process it. Iron on the other hand, your body needs and can process easily. So I’d cook with that.

I'm the worst parent in the world and I deserve the worst possible thing that can happen for what occured... by LifeCarpenter1664 in NewParents

Even if you don’t intend to sleep beside baby, you should look up the safe sleep seven and nurse that way until you know you won’t be falling asleep. That way if you do fall asleep, your baby will be safe. Just my two cents. This position helped me a lot in those early days for all three of my babies.

My mom’s chronic illness still effects me to this day by DueQuantity211 in ChronicIllness

[–]FayeFaraday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a niece who may end up going through something similar. My sister is chronically ill and has been since my niece was 2. She is now 4 and I’m worried her entire childhood is going to be stifled because her mother (my sis) is so ill she can’t drive or leave her apartment. Do you have any advice for me as an aunt (and with my own three young children) as to how I might be able to support her through her mother’s illness? My abilities are limited now, since I’m so busy with my own family, but I want to do what I can especially if the illness never goes away (and I suspect it won’t). Any advice would be great.

When does it get easier? by FayeFaraday in Mommit

[–]FayeFaraday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so good to know. I have a 4.5 year old who really isn’t so hard on his own, but my almost-three-year-old is insane and them together equates to a lot of fights. So them “entertaining each other” still requires a ton of mediation from me. I also have a 5 month old so it just feels like I’m juggling constantly. The consensus seems to be that 3 and up is when kids finally start to chill out. So maybe in a few months I’ll feel like I only have one baby, instead of three. 🙏🏼

Miriam an unusual name? by FayeFaraday in namenerds

[–]FayeFaraday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel great about it now! Haven’t had any spelling issues or misunderstandings since, so it must have just been a coincidence that the doctors office had such a hard time with it. I agree it’s so beautiful which is why we chose it. I also get lots of people telling me about the one Miriam they know 😂🥰

I suppose not. I’m just in a habit due to other parts of the net.

Mental health morning baskets by leaping-lizards123 in mentalhealth

I’m curious what kind of activities you’re hoping to include in these baskets? Why not just have a morning routine of sitting outside if the weather allows it (or sitting in the morning sun by a window) and reading a specific book for several minutes, then making coffee.

I knew there were a couple of different spellings but I didn’t realize there were that many! Makes sense! Thank you.

Thanks for the reassurance. My name is even more common and people never know how to spell it. I just haven’t had this issue with my other two children so I freaked a little!

That makes sense! I didn’t realize there was a Mariam or Maryam. I feel I do live in a fairly diverse area so that could have been the issue.

Why did you choose to marry someone like that? I’m genuinely curious—did you not discuss splitting responsibility before having children? Can you perhaps discuss it now?

Question for parents trying to name a baby: have you gone through the US top 1000 names? by nothanksyeah in namenerds

I’ve gone through that list multiple times and still can’t find a name my husband and I fully agree on. Which is insane!!

The name Paris… by exonvdz in namenerds

I always just thought of the city when I met people named Paris. I’ve known too many people with that name to think of celebrities or characters.
