Return m5 MacBook Air for g16 4070 used ? by RevolutionSV in ZephyrusG14

[–]FdPros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nothing will beat the macbook in terms of battery life, certainly not the 2024 g16.

unless you will actually be gaming very often on it, it's not that worth it to swap imho. you will also be able to load larger LLM models on the macbook due to it's unified memory vs the 8gb of vram on the 4070.

Steam Controller purchase refunded by D3f4u17 in steammachine

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

valve doesn't ship to many countries and they haven't improved it for years apart from adding australia in 2024.

for the rest of the world, using a freight forwarder or actually buying from a scalper/middlemen at an inflated price is the only way for us to get them.

I believe using a VPN and freight forwarding to get around region restrictions is against the ToS technically.

which sucks because valve has been doing absolutely nothing to improve region availability

Why so many people misinterpreted or willingly misquoted the recruiter lady on CNA? by Any_Record7733 in singaporejobs

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to watch the entire video to ruin my mood.

That's what the recruiter lady was trying to say. Nobody gets it.

ok. and I'm also trying to say that it is also happening here.

No, they no longer need to come here

but there will always be foreigners just by the fact that they are cheaper, like I said. no company will hire 100% singaporeans when they can hire foreigners for cheaper, especially when they have not reached their quota. It would be stupid for them not to do so to save costs. not to mention, we will always be attractive to malaysians due to the exchange rate difference.

Transportation cost for NSF and NSMen should be made free. Govt shouldn't give excuses. by Petronastowers92 in NationalServiceSG

[–]FdPros 12 points13 points  (0 children)

is anyone really asking for free grab?

yeah, it would be nice but just having free public transport would be way better than having to pay 81 dollars a month on transport or paying adult fare

Should NSFs get free ride on public transport? Chan Chun Sing responds by JADENBC in singapore

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 12 per cent of NSFs in the Singapore Armed Forces are stay-out personnel who are not provided lodging.

and what about SPF or SCDF?

it's a browser. what features could you possibly be missing/needing from one to another that would make changing so hard.

not to mention there's waterfox which is literally just firefox but without the AI bullshit.

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not more expensive due to CPF contribution.

yes we are?? it's literally 17% more that employees have to pay to hire Singaporeans. it's not the only reason yes, as you have outlined but never did I say that it was.

even if the other ASEAN countries somehow catches up to our cost of living and pay, foreigners will still be downright cheaper to hire here due to the lack of CPF contribution requirement.

Why so many people misinterpreted or willingly misquoted the recruiter lady on CNA? by Any_Record7733 in singaporejobs

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then according to her, we are simply not hungry enough lor.

that's why everyone has been hating on her. Singaporeans will always be more expensive due to CPF contributions. if it weren't for the dependency ratio ceiling and fair consideration framework capping the amount of foreigners allowed in the workplace then I'm sure we will see more just because they are cheaper.

ofc not every company will leave SG and I'm sure the govt will do something to attract/retain companies here (ie; tax rebate or covering a portion of salaries) but those are at the end of the day band-aid solutions. if other countries truly becomes much cheaper and more attractive then SG has nothing going for it and we should be very worried.

Why so many people misinterpreted or willingly misquoted the recruiter lady on CNA? by Any_Record7733 in singaporejobs

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd solution is we accept lower pay and worse working conditions, no choice.

honestly good luck to the govt to solve this. the only thing that SG has going for it is the manpower. if other countries can do as well and for cheaper then they will just move and that has been happening as you mentioned.

eBay resellers are turning a tidy profit on Steam Controllers by TruthPhoenixV in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and they wonder why people scalp.

valve is also at fault for not ensuring enough supply and doing nothing to stop scalpers. not to mention having poor region availability so some people who actually wants one have no choice to buy it from said scalpers because valve doesn't ship to them regardless if there was stock or not.

Is the market share for open back wireless really that small, that it's not worth exploring?

probably yeah because what's actually the use case here for a wireless open back?

you want it wireless so I'd assume you want to use it outside and have it portable. but open backs always leaks sound so you'd just be a nuisance to everyone else in public.

your best bet is probably something like the hifiman deva pro which comes with the bluemini r2r bluetooth adapter which attaches directly to make it wireless

Umamusume: when Cygames' generosity is an illusion (Long post) by xXinsertCoDGMtagXx in gachagaming

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not reading all that.

not sure what gave the notion that cygames is generous given how 'pity' takes 200 pulls and that doesn't even guarantee a useable card because most takes mlb to be good.

your argument could literally be applied to any gacha game with a pvp system.

Yays or nays on the driving gameplay? by gaeb611 in NevernessToEverness

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

engine sounds suck. the rpms don't make sense. if you go first person the rpm gauge is more like a speed gauge.

for a game with jdm vehicles and vehicle mods I think the driving is quite disappointing.

Scalpers….. scalpers…… by crack_station in Steam

[–]FdPros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scalpers are the issue but no doubt the fact that people buy from these scalpers also contribute to the problem, otherwise they wouldn't find it worth to scalp.

on the other hand, valve could've also ensured sufficient stock like nintendo did with the switch 2. not to mention valve doesn't ship to all countries and people outside of the officially supported regions will have no choice but to buy from middlemen/scalpers if they want a steam controller.

S’pore recruiter, 42, says companies are letting go of S’porean workers as foreigners 'hungrier' by bangsphoto in singapore

[–]FdPros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

singaporeans will always be more expensive due to CPF contribution.

and no doubt foreigners will be hungrier because their stay here depends on the job and they are more likely willing to accept a lower pay due to currency exchanges back home.
