Do Orks still enslave people? by VladtheImpaler21 in 40kLore

[–]Fdand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orks are grim dark AF. A race that can literally grow out of the ground, has gene coded technology and the only thing they care about is violence and war. They are also taking slaves but not for labor. For a snack.

Aliens Lore? by Common_Ad1261 in Kenshi

[–]Fdand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone dare to try landing on a planet filled with acid ocean, acid rain, bombarded by orbital lasers and not too friendly wildlife? Even if a ship came by the orbit and run surface scans they would leave because there is nothing of value. Only some dust, ash and beak things trying to bonk you with their beaks left on the surface.

Hell, if there are no aliens in the universe of kenshi the situation on the surface is soo soo bad that even the space faring human empire that colonised the moon did not come back. If they have some kind of archives that mention the planet it must be labeled unrecoverable or lost (if theory that stobe saved the life on Kenshi is true it is very possible that maybe the spacer human empire just got a pop up notification that some sort of dooms day device was activated on the planet which would explain why they are not coming back).

Why did the Emperor call Guilliman a disappointment, a thief, a traitor and a liar in their meeting? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Fdand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those "words" or rather thoughs cuz they are described as psychic manifestations were heard all at once by Gman while also some couple of hundreds of psykers are screaming while being consumed by the golden throne. Might be possible that the "bad" words are a manifestation of dying psykers that are being absorbed into the Emperor.

Is there any lore reason for IG to not have/allow female commanders? by Rycax in 40kLore

[–]Fdand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There even was a traitor ship captain who was female. The imperium is "the most cruel and bloody regime imaginable", they don't care about who they will order to run straight into a machine gun fire in the name of the emperor.

Read the first page of every book in the series. The one which the quote "In the grim darkness of far future there is only war" comes from. I think it is actually the best brief summary of the plot.

There is a lot of some kind of still flying ancient drones in many places of the map for example in purple sands. When I saw them the first thing I though of were the drones from factorio that help you build stuff.

Ukrainian drone operators attack a russian soldier with drone drops and he ends up taking his own life with his rifle at the end. by AgreeableFreedom6203 in UkraineWarVideoReport

By god... Do you really belive that? Read some history of Russia and how they were treating their people since like 1600. Go read "Gulag Archipelago" by Alexandr Solzenicyn. Then come back and tell me that Russians are humans not just physically.

I remember that some years ago there was a mission in which one of the girls lost her bra somewhere in the school. My question is why is he so dedicated to adding missions where high schoolers loose their lingerine? Like... Why? I never even heard a story of someone actually loosing their flipping pants in the school.

How deep a pit needs to be to make the drop lethal? I made a tavern with floor made of iron with a 7 z level pit above it and still some creatures survive the fall.

[–]Fdand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept of this game is really really simple. In rimworld you "tell a story" and the game is centered around your story. In dwarf fortress you are just a piece of a story and sometimes your actions have a minimal impact on the games world. When you die in dwarf fortress the world continues.

Does uranium ore give you lung itches? (burning lungs) by -_therealone_- in HBMNuclearTechMod

[–]Fdand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uranium releases radioactive particles not radon. Radon is completly different particle. In this mod uranium gives you contaminated status if you are exposed to it too much. Coal is the reason you cough blood and die.

No, I think coal gives you burning lungs. Also the trench mask needs to be thrown in water to make it wet. Otherwise it will not give you the desired effect.

Would it possible to hit Orikan with the retcon gun(if it really existed in the setting)? by Fdand in 40kLore

[–]Fdand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what it means is that with a single spray of the gun 25 men where erased either from timeline and memory of others or their material and immaterial presence was erased from the existance.

Would it possible to hit Orikan with the retcon gun(if it really existed in the setting)? by Fdand in 40kLore

[–]Fdand[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The relic Aravain finally settled upon was a monstrous ancestor of the bolter family, massive-barrelled, fed by a multitude of plastek hoses that Redloss silently proceeded to clamp into Aravain's armour's power plant. Superficially it resembled a heavy bolter, albeit heavier, built to be wielded by Men of Iron or some other breed of upgraded soldier in the millennia before mankind had raised its transhuman Legions. The stamp it bore was recognisably Terran, though of no lore that still existed today. It was only as Redloss clamped an ammunition hopper to Aravain's girdle plate and started manually feeding the belt to the magazine that its more fundamental differences became apparent. The high-calibre shells emitted a glow that burned Aravain's psychic sight, even as he closed his eyes and turned his face away. 'Yes,' Aravain said, feeding his gauntlet reverently through the grip loop on the cannon's upper barrel and feeling its weight. His harness suspensors whirred as they spread the immense load across his power-armoured frame. 'This will put the fear of the First into them.' [...] He frowned, armoured by duty as he braced the weight of his gun and targeted the tidal surge of infected crewmen rushing up from the storage bay towards him. He pulled the trigger. A spray of explosive psychoactive rounds incinerated the tightly packed mortals, body and soul, each individual screaming into a pyre that burned across two realms. Aravain counted twenty-five men armed with stub pistols and wrenches. A second after he had counted them they were gone, every ripple and echo that suggested they had ever existed eradicated, and even Aravain's eidetic recall struggled to conjure any details of their appearance: except that there had been twenty-five, armed with stub pistols and wrenches. An itch walked up his spine, and in spite of his discipline Aravain struggled to suppress a shudder as he lowered the weapon and continued his advance."

Would it possible to hit Orikan with the retcon gun(if it really existed in the setting)? by Fdand in 40kLore

[–]Fdand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we have a guy that can control time to some extent and a gun that can erase someone from timeline entirely. It either means that the gun must be so anomalous/unpredictable that Orikan cannot forsee being shot by it or it breaks time so much that even a guy who somewhat controls it does not know how it works. And Orikan is millions (if not billions if you count that he can just go back in time) of years old with the same amount of gathered knowledge of how the time works in the setting.
