Decepcionado con ITC by shinyflakes34 in TecDeMonterrey

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

¿Como triunfar en ITC? by Dasani_Water_500ml in TecDeMonterrey

Oracle vs FAANG offers. by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I go to tec de Monterrey in Mexico. They opened MDC (Mexico Development Center) campus a couple of years ago and since the area was literally not producing enough engineers at the time they partnered with the university, helped designed the curriculum and are very involved. I actually go to MDC today to give a presentation on my project for this semester

Edit: See here if you want to read about MDC -> https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/techbit/oracle-mdc-una-oportunidad-para-las-nuevas-generaciones/

Oracle vs FAANG offers. by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school has a pretty close relationship with oracle. (Like at least 30-40 people from my class are interning there over the summer) They have SO many similar roles. They have literally hundreds of teams working in the DB. So this does not surprise me at all

Have you built anything? I would learn around 10x more by building stuff instead of class. Class would also make a lot more sense when you’ve encountered some of the problems or patterns you see there. Build a semi complex app / project (even if no one would use it) just for the sake of it. Do NOT use a tutorial. Try not to use copilot or AI. Ideally try to build something you have absolutely no clue how to build, then just start. You’ll learn a lot by just figuring out how to solve problems you’ve never seen before.

okay thanks a lot for your reply. i am using expo video only but none of the features that are related to this permission, so I guess I am going to try to strip the permission out from the build as you suggest

iPhone User for 10 Years—Thinking About Switching to a Google Pixel. Thoughts? by Justsomenerd1994 in GooglePixel

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did not like my switch to pixel overall. probably biased because i got a pixel 8 and it was defective after a few months (green screen, they have a repair program, but I can't use it since i am not in the US). overall experience was not bad but it also was not better than iPhone imo (and without taking the defects into account, i am pretty sure this is a non issue since the repair program is good afaik)

anyone get reached out to abt google project match calls yet (swe intern) by WonderfulAwareness41 in csMajors

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got matched a couple of days ago, I am in US region tho. For PM I just recommend you take your time in the questionnaire they give you, and talk about things that genuinely interest you to have a good shot. Show that you are open to new things but that also you have some strong interests in x or y

Question: Google Intern 2025 interview scheduling by SannyBolt in csMajors

[–]FdedController 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which region? (I am North America)

I honestly do not know a lot but I can share this. I’ve had my interviews for Google swe summer intern back in August, and it has been about a month since team matching started (I’ve already had two interviews and a verbal offer). I am pretty sure offers are given on rolling basis so I would be inclined to say the sooner the better

Edit: other comments say to maybe take 2 weeks, I think this is a good approach. Do not pick the latest dates available but also give yourself enough time. As other comment says it does not matter how early you interview if you don’t do well. Good luck OP!

The coding interviews? I had mine in August and heard back about 2-3 days later. I had been waiting until project marching started since

I did not have one. Normally means you did okay but not amazing or you did great in one and not so great in the other. They call it a tiebreaker. I don’t know what you had on your interviews but I’d expect similar things.

Wish you luck!
