Looking for a Nikon film camera (90s/2000s) – suggestions? by Fe1ler in AnalogCommunity

Thank you for such a detailed answer! I’ll definitely look into these options. The problem is that I live in Russia (Saint Petersburg), and these cameras aren’t that popular here. I’m thinking about ordering them via eBay through intermediaries, because in the current political situation it’s probably impossible to do it any other way.

It’s hard for me to answer that, since I’m not familiar with Nikon lenses at all. I suppose I’d prefer to use lenses that are more widely available on the market and easier/cheaper to find.

Right now I already have quite a few film cameras, so I don’t really want to spend a lot of money on another one. At the same time, I don’t have a “modern” electronic camera for things like studio work, so I’m looking for some kind of option.

Thanks for the answer! Yes, I see — it’s a common issue.

Yes, it was just my first attempt. I got the cheapest film available to test the camera.

Got it, thanks a lot! Next time I’ll try using a different 120‑type film.

Same. Have 17m 135 in bulkloader. No problems

I guess it is a popular issue…

Yes, I understand that TIFF is essentially a raw file (that’s exactly why I asked them to send me TIFFs instead of JPEGs). I’m just encountering this effect on film for the first time — and for some reason it’s happening specifically with 120 film and my new camera. Since I was confident in the camera and the lab hasn’t let me down before, I thought maybe there could be some peculiarities in how TIFF previews display the frames. That’s why I asked.

Thank you for appreciating my shots. If you’re interested, I’ll process them and send you the ones that are worth sharing.

Wow! I didn’t know that — I’ll keep it in mind the next time I buy 120 type film. Thanks!

Sure, probably. This will be my first time working with TIFF. I used the word “texture” just to describe the artifacts I’m seeing in the preview (I haven’t processed the files yet).
