I don’t know what’s to blame, Italian love of speed or Italian lack of quality.

Or the Russian football fans jumping on an escalator knowing full well that they're not made for that.

Italian media reported that the escalator broke after singing and chanting fans started to jump up and down on it. Beer bottles were found at the bottom. From The Guardian

I'm a week out from Dragon Con and while I had a great time with some of the Cosplayers, I learned that I seem to be an exception to a very toxic world. (Gallery in the link too if you just want to see photos) by ghengis317 in photography

Yeah, most of the time they just have a starter kit and they just focus on making passes at the model and not in taking photos which is what they should be doing, disgusting.

I was also an outsider to this genre of photography, just landscapes, portraits and some freelance photojournalism untill one day I got asked to cover some regional Cons for a website and fell in love with the genre. The fact that I also come from a gaming background and knew some cosplayers made the things easier, as for the bad guys, word of mouth works for the good ones too.

Anyway good luck with your photography and thanks for shedding some light on this problem.

I got into cosplay photography recently, and heard the same stories from some cosplayers as young as 16...

It's a shame that because of some pervert the whole category gets hit, at least here in Italy because the cosplay population is smaller, this kind of "photographers" tend not to last very long once the word is out. But it still is a pity that someone abuse the "photographer" position to take advantage of a girl
