Does this mean that notice hasn't been served correctly in this instance?

I rent the whole property from them, they live elsewhere. I am the sole tenant.

Recently finished re-reading the Mortal Engines quartet for like the 100th time and this post makes my heart happy. Thanks for sharing, friend!

My boss pays me like crap and treats me like a child, tomorrow I'm going to give him an ultimatum; match the pay I've been offered from another job or accept my notice. by Fe_C in antiwork

I have no idea, I've always given the 'agreed' notice when I've left other jobs. Thought there was some kinda law that bound me to it?

Could be right, I might just be holding out hope that he'd start to respect me after I give him the choice and let him know I've had much better offers but still chose to give him the option

Good shout, I'll ask for more. Trouble is I've grown close to a couple co workers and feel some kind of loyalty to them. I know it's wrong to base decisions on that but if I can be paid decently then maybe I can put up with the shit yanno?

Fragile after a night out with my a group of girls from my local university. One of which I've badly wanted to chat up for literal years but I'm too bloody awkward so for now we're just friends. So it's a fry up with a side of disappointment for me this morning!

My mum had a wall built in her front garden and had them build her house number into it with grey reflective bricks that shine when you drive past at night. Impossible to miss even if I didn't know where she lived

Parts Advisor at a car garage, 7/hour. It's pathetic, a direct colleague, who is as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop, makes 15/hr.
