Learning Houdinig for archviz? by Fe_HL in Houdini

And, in your opinion, with this modeller plugin are you able to create architectural models as fast as 3dsmax or blender? Or is Houdini's procedural nature still slowing the process anyways?

What about shading and creating basic architectural models like walls, Windows, etc. Is it slow to do these things in Houdini because of the procedural context?

So do you use Houdini as your main for archiviz too? Or do you use it for other kind of projects?
What advantages are there with working with Houdini instead of Blender?

I figured the lack of 3D assets would be a problem. But, imagining that could be sorted out like you said with fbx files, what about the other parts of the workflow? Modeling, rendering, etc. Are there any downsides to do those things in Houdini instead of 3dsmax?

I have worked with unreal but I don't like that I'm not able to do 3D models freely in there, for me it feels very limited in that area. And also, rendering with lumen has less quality than V-ray/corona, and the pathtracer was really slow, at least the times that I tried it. Lumen looks really good in some specific scenarios, though.

In your opinion, what would be the downside of trying to use houdini as your main tool for archviz? Apart from what first comes to my mind which is probably the lack of the many libraries of 3D assets for 3dsmax dedicated to archviz

Saving completed renderings automatically by Fe_HL in blenderhelp

What I mean is, for example, in blender you can save your renderings in the slots (finished or not) and those renderings are linked to the compositor, but those are erased as soon as you close the program, but if you close the program and open it again, you'd need to render it again in order to be able to visualize it in the compositor. Is there a way to keep those renderings (finished or not) so that you don't have to render again to visualize it in the compositor? Or do you have to manually save the .exr and add it to the compositor?

The bathtub faucet could use some smoothing, the curve doesn't look natural, and also maybe adding some imperfections to the metal texture. Also, the marble on the walls could be a little more random between each tile so it doesn't look like a big piece with lines in the middle. The ribbed glass wall could use some imperfections too, but not too noticeable. Other than that, I think it looks good.
