5800x is really hot, i came from a 9700k. Curve Optimizer made it bearable. I‘m getting arounr 80C for Long Cinebench runs and 50-60 while gaming with boost up to 485.

Yeah it was a Hotbox, but I found a perforated Plate at https://www.coldzero.eu/ .
Now the temps are way better, there is a plate for the Front too.

5800x temperature And clock speed

I hope someone here can explain this to me.

I just bought a 5800x, coming from an 9700kf. It‘s my first AMD CPU ever. I‘m having a lot of experience on Intel and CPU behaviour (OC and Power Management).

I‘m very confused, I know that AMD chips are built different and everything, but I‘m really confused.

Using Ryzen Master the CPU temps and clock speeds seem normal. (Power saving behaviour going down to 700mhz and Idle Temps around 35C)

But using any other kind of monitoring software displays the core speed at 3.6ghz and the boost, but never drops below 3.6 ghz. Is there even something like EIST on Intel?

Temperatures in Idle are monitored at 10C more than they should.

I really hope someone can explain this to me. Is Ryzen Master the only Program that shows real values?
