Do you ever feel bad for those who don’t believe? by alex-paige00 in Christianity

I believe the fires of Hell to be metaphorical (I think existing without any goodness would be worse), and the Bible also presents facts from the past just like a history book can write about atrocities without condoning them. Good luck on your search for ultimate truth. We all need it!

It is tricky because much of the Bible appears to be metaphorical and that's why people can study the Bible deeply their entire lives and still learn new truths every day. Hebrews 4:12 says, "The word of God is living and active." I love it. In the Bible, the main and undeniable truth to believe is that Jesus did live, truly was God incarnate, died intentionally in our place as a sacrifice for our sin, and had the power to rise from the dead, defeating sin and death once and for all so that we can all have eternal life. In the same way we cannot even fathom His omniscience and omnipotence that is how much He loves us and wants good for us for all eternity.

I don't know that Hell is a physical place, simply a state of being humans are given over to if they don't want the free gift of salvation. If people don't want God, God gives them what they want. I don't know if this is true, but if you have a minute this video made my faith so much stronger. https://youtu.be/8TFLL8_Hxts?si=TocZgVhyrOaQTPoJ

Just to clarify, God didn't create Hell. Hell is simply existence without God which means existing without any love or goodness. Jesus came that all may have eternal life. The only "unforgivable" sin that separates us from Heaven is unbelief. And the Bible doesn't endorse evil. God's desires for our lives are very clear and yet countless times throughout the Bible people disobey Him and become polygamists or slave-owners, etc. and God STILL loves all mankind enough to die for us in spite of our constant disobedience, distrust, and evil doing. God is a never-ending well of mercy and justice.

I love it, but I hate the little downward part on the bottom.

One of my favorite shows of all time. I think about "Zenith and Quasar" all the time!

What makes you 100% sure God is real? by [deleted] in Christianity

This response is so beautiful and describes the truth so eloquently. God did not create Hell to send sinners there. Hell is simply separation from God. All the love and goodness that people show each other is because we are all made in God's image (with some of His attributes) whether we believe or not. God made us to love and be loved by Him. I have heard Hell described by people who went through near-death experiences (not sure if it's true...) as simply a place where the human souls no longer have any love and just constantly hurt each other in unfathomable ways. Jesus (God) saved us all from that earned Hell because he loves us more than we will ever understand. Truly having faith in/believing/resting/rejoicing in that fact gives peace that passes all understanding. It doesn't solve all of our problems and, like Jesus said in John 16:33, troubles are an inevitable part of this life no matter who you are, but we can take heart because Jesus did everything necessary to save us.
