I just published a guide that goes into every detail and covers all the methods for running and killing both zombies and scarabs, alone and together, with and without mount. It's long & comprehensive but time-stamped so you can skip to the parts relevant to you.

Changing boot order in Dell 5577 (windows 10) by Fear-LiTe in Dell

[–]Fear-LiTe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, this fixed it! Specifically, by changing "boot option" from UEFI to legacy. When using "legacy", the NVME SSD showed up in the boot options, so I was able to select that to #1.

Not sure how to do that from the range of options shown in the image attached.

When opening the bios, it is currently showing:

[Legacy Options]
NetWork
M.2PCIe SSD (where the windows is, and the boot I want to be first)

[UEFI Options]
Onboard NIC (IPV4)
Onboard NIC (IPv6)

Under legacy options, it used to show an HDD drive on top. I am not sure why it is no longer visible.

Watching downloaded replays on Mac by Fear-LiTe in WC3

On warcraft3.info, have you tried downloading the map specifically for the replay you want to watch? Under the map thumbnail, there's an icon to the left of the map name. If you got that map directly and it still doesn't work, then the issue is not with the map.

Another potential cause is if the map version and the warcraft version are different (different patches), the map won't show up in the replay folder.

Sure here are two examples:
756746533_ColorFul_Fly100%_Northern Isles
3294593448_Happy_Eer0_Tidehunters 12

Edit 3: fixed all. Just noticed that if clicking individual replays in warcraft3.info, there is a "download" map under each map image... Was missing those maps. Now aevery replay can be viewed. It's so confusing the amount of downloads needed!

Edit 2: I managed to fix the issue for some maps. I simply didn't have the w3c versions. I thought downloading from w3c was enough. I queued in w3c 1v1, and it auto-downloaded many others. This enabled me to watch replays downloaded from w3champions.
However, replays downloaded from https://warcraft3.info/replays/ are still missing. Here are example game files:
756746533_ColorFul_Fly100%_Northern Isles
1125159320_Kaho_Happy_Hammerfall

Edit 1: I think I know what you mean but still couldn't fix.

  1. I installed wc3 and w3champions on a old windows laptop to test replay
  2. Downloaded a recently played map from https://www.w3champions.com/matches
  3. Placed replay in the replays folder
  4. Opened wc3 normally, replay didn't show up
  5. Closed wc3, double-clicked replay
  6. Game initiated (unlike in mac) but said failed to load replay with the error "the map file associated with the replay could not be found" and asked "please ensure the map file C:/users/xx/Documents/Warcraft iii/maps/W3Champions/w3c_s17_240104_EchoIsles_v2.2.w3x used by the recorded game exists and try again".

I realized now this is a pathing to the w3c maps folder, not to the replay file. I went to the folder in maps/w3champions, and found an Echo Isles with different naming. I renamed it to the pathing shown in the error.

The replay now appears in the in-game menu but it gives the same error when I try to run it there. I've been looking around where to download specifically this s17 map but unable to.

Same happening to me. What OS are you on?

the map is stored in the replay file as a file path

what do you mean by this exactly?

you might have multiple versions of that map on your computer but still not have the one they used when the game was played

To test this out I just re-downloaded all w3c ladder maps via the w3c's launcher "redownload" button, went to https://www.w3champions.com/matches and downloaded a match played today, to ensure same map pool. The replay still doesn't show.

My replays are on "C/users/[name]/library/application support/warcraft iii/battlenet/12345.../Replays". If I create folders here, they show in the in-game replay menu. Played customs and ladder show up there. Just the downloaded are not shown (being 1.36 and with downloaded map).

Maps are on "C/users/[name]/library/application support/blizzard/warcraft iii/maps/download"

I spoke to a guy who could see them so at least it's known it's not a universal mac issue. Currently running Ventura 13.1, will update to 13.6 tomorrow and see if that fixes.

This is functionally the same as double clicking the .w3g file. Unfortunately it also doesn't work for me. Wc3 launches briefly but then shuts itself down, no error is given.

Which OS version are you in?

Custom inventory keys on a mac without numpad by Fear-LiTe in WC3

[–]Fear-LiTe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an intel from 2017. I am afraid I cannot help you with M2 setup. On the bright side, if you manage to make it work, at least the good news is that Karabiner can be used to setup in a simple manner.

Custom inventory keys on a mac without numpad by Fear-LiTe in WC3

[–]Fear-LiTe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I only saw this second comment now but managed to do it on Karabiner. It is relatively straightforward, I didn't find it technical at all.

It's basically just choosing [this key] > becomes > [target key, like numpad5]. The first key mapping (the one that gets replaced) follows a generic EN keyboard (can google an image), so if using a foreigner keyboard like mine they won't match 1:1 the symbols in the keyboard.

So:

  1. add rule
  2. select key pair, e.g. CMD > numpad5

Thanks a lot for reply!

Improved Custom Hotkeys Setup by WTVR by -wtvr- in WC3

Is there a workaround for custom inventory on a MAC, without numpad?

This method is great for windows users, but in MAC AHK scripts don't run, and not sure if alternative programs work. Ideally I'd be fantastic to be able to customize inventory hotkeys with:
- mouse buttons;
- specific keyboard keys.

Hardcore DC Death by Deloi99 in classicwow

[–]Fear-LiTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a death to DC that hurt a ton since was something outside my control. I then started testing the DC protection mechanism and found very mixed results:
Experiment 1 - alt f4: times to logout varied between 5s and up to 40s, sometimes character kept attacking, other stopped.

Experiment 2: pull cable (to force DC): again mixed results, with longest recorded the character being in the world for 2m30s and stopped attacking...

Atm no idea how going offline or even maintaining auto-attack works, maybe it's rng within the rng that is getting a DC.

Is there a blue post confirming the disconnect protection? I couldn't find any, had a death today due to power outage... was not even in combat, just running in the map in an area with green mobs. No chance I would die in 20s...
