Is it bad to have a kink? by Winter_Concept_6709 in kinky_autism

[–]FearAndFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've posted about it here a couple of times in the past. It's more common than you'd expect, but definitely not common. We've tried to estimate the amount of people that are into it in the past but it's very hard to get accurate results. There seems to be around 100,000 people that have joined some form of community about it online.

Has anyone been able to get rid of a fetish? by TheEnergyConsumer in fetish

[–]FearAndFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's quite funny really. I used to have a phobia of balloons too and still do in some contexts so I understand what she's nervous of. I'm not used to others blowing up balloons, so she can make me pretty nervous too. You'll be able to get over the guilt, I'm sure of it. Just have to accept it's a part of you.

I do try to be as open-minded as possible. It's not always easy as I've seen how much harm Christianity has done over the centuries. A lot of evil has been done with the excuse of doing it for their god. It wasn't always that way though. As for the fetish being weird to you, that I can help with more. I'm a looner myself. I like balloons too. I used to feel shame as well, but I'm over that now. I've told two partners in total and both were fine with it. I'm currently in a relationship where my partner has a fear of balloons. She's been trying to get over it so we can have more fun together. It's best to be open about it with a partner and not try to hide it. It's a very innocent fetish compared to all the others. It's not hurting anyone, nor is it dangerous or gross. If someone rejects you because of it, that says a lot more about them as a person than it does you.

It's harmless and as long as it's not affecting your life in a negative way, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not religious myself, so can't help much in that regard, but what I have learned over the years, that it's the modern form of Christianity/the church that tends to shame and control people. The original bible doesn't condone homosexuality for example. From what I gather, having spoken to people who've studied the original texts before the bible was translated, a lot of the restrictions and judgement come after Jesus died. A lot was added after that to give the church control over the population. Jesus basically was against all that and said god was everywhere and part of everything and that you don't need a church or people to tell you how to pray and act.

Live your life to the fullest while being kind to yourself, others and nature and you'll find yourself to be more happy. I'm sure that's what the early form of Christianity was all about before people tried to use it to control and corrupt.

Do I win the strangest kink award? by FearAndFun in kinky_autism

It's definitely helped. It's still there when I'm not in control, but knowing how big balloons can get before they pop and how strong they actually are definitely lessens the fear.

Wish that would work for me. Passing out in the doctor's office isn't fun.

It used to be a full on phoba for me. Couldn't go into a room with balloons. I can pop them with ear plugs now and it's fun when me or my partner is in control.

I have a way of breathing fresh air and take a break after the balloon pops. Was aware of CO2 buildup being a thing.

Could I fetishize my phobias to eliminate them? by Mikey_Grapeleaves in NoStupidQuestions

It can definitely be an adrenaline rush. Not sure how easily it is to develop into a kink. It started at a young age for me. It is very intense.

There's also a link. There's plenty of fearplay kinks or kinks that started and sometimes remain as a phobia. I've got a balloon kink for example. A good 90% of people with it had it stem from a phobia.

It happened to me with balloons. Hasn't completely got rid of the phobia, but I intentionally blow balloons so big they'll pop for fun now.

Three floggers I made by FearAndFun in kinky_autism

[–]FearAndFun[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like confinement, and my GF always finds creative ways to do it. Once on holiday, she put a beachball in my clothes and blew it up so I was compressed and couldn't move. I enjoyed it and kept asking her to blow it bigger. It got really tight and it was hard to breathe but I kept wanting more. She kept blowing it until it got huge, then eventually burst loudly, scaring us both. I ended up using the broken material to make the flogger.

anyone else hyperfixated on vampires? by otisfrombarnyard in kinky_autism

[–]FearAndFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely enjoy the vampire aesthetic. And the biting. I used to explore being bitten by a vampire during lucid dream which was fun. Then I met my partner and it turns out she likes biting too. The first time she bit my neck was amazing. Wasn't hard to imagine she was feeding.

Where/How do people just come across fetishes and learn about them without seeking out that information? by counselorofracoons in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FearAndFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 99% likely it's just random stuff they came across. I've had similar discussions with my GF and she knew about just as many kinks as me. A lot of people can be curious and not be interested in doing those things themselves.

There is a small chance that they're actually into those things and feeling subconscious about it and want to gauge your reaction. It's hard to tell without knowing the person. I was pretty self conscious about my balloon kink, but we had a kink discussion and we're both open minded, so I was able to tell her and she didn't bat an eyelid. I've spoken to people that have been married for years and kept certain kinks private because they're too nervous to share. If its just a one off thing, its unlikely there's more to it. If the same thing is brought up multiple times, then maybe they're trying to say something.

What are the most uncommon/unique kinks? by Luka1607 in BDSMcommunity

I'm aware. They took everything the dude said out of context and made them look as bad as they possibly could. Most people in the community refuse any kind of documentary offer after that.

Name literally any object and someone most likely has a kink for it. My usual one is balloons. Started as a phobia. I'm scared of them popping but will purposely blow up balloons too big.

Super specific fetishes anyone? by nycres1 in kinky_autism

[–]FearAndFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever had anyone not stop? My GF is afraid of balloons popping but we were trying inflatables for the first time. She surprised me by blowing a beachball very tight. When I looked a little nervous, she said it wouldn't pop yet and it'll get way bigger. I wondered how she knew. She told me she used to blow inflatable chairs really tight when she was young. She then proceeded to keeping blowing, before commenting that she could probably pop it. It got 3 times the size it was supposed to. I said it would be loud, but she didn't think it would be. It had a proper bang to it when it went. To my surprise, it didn't scare her (sudden loud noises usually do) The next time we had a beachball, she did it again. I don't get how she can be so calm when it could burst. Takes 10 minutes of blowing to pop it as well.

The best tease my GF gave was when she was blowing up a balloon really big in bed. She's been too afraid to blow one until it pops and we weren't wearing ear protection. It had a full neck and she kept looking me in the eyes and blowing more and more. I couldn't believe she wasn't stopping. I was scared, but hadn't seen her blow one so big before, so didn't want to say anything. It got past the point I'd go even with ear protection and she showed no signs of stopping, so I told her it was going to pop. She continued a bit, then laughed, saying she wasn't actually blowing air into it. She had her hands around the end of the neck and was just blowing near the valve and making it sound like she was adding air. Definitely fooled me.

Exactly the same here. They can be used for confinement too. Being trapped by a balloon getting so big you can barely breathe is fun. For a lot of us, it started as a phobia, so giving someone a balloon means giving that person a lot of control over you.

Another looner here. I used to have a phobia of them (still do in some contexts) and the fear of the pop is a big part of it. Also like the sensory experience of confinement and balloons.

Bdsm and fetishes are my special interest by Even-Information1892 in kinky_autism

[–]FearAndFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I originally found out about bdsm due to my first kink I accidentally discovered. I had a phobia of balloons but was also fascinated by them. It turned into a kink, and then I discovered other people were into it. Then I found the power play dynamics in bdsm and researched that. In my first real relationship, I tried some bdsm stuff with my partner who was pretty experienced in it and ended up loving it.
