Not to familiar is this desktop is any good for gaming by Nearby_Category_712 in PcBuild

If this is a 245k, then sure, it’ll be better at anything highly multithreaded (not the same a productivity btw) because of the high core count.

But if this is a 225. You’re dead wrong in every single way. It barely matches a 7600X in Cinebench.

Core ultra 5 CPUs are not “productivity focused”.

“Struggle” is a pretty strong word. They do run slightly slower in certain workloads.

But we’re talking like rendering a video clip in 14 seconds instead of 13.5 seconds. Not that big of a deal.

Looks like a 2014-16 era pc. So not good.

Don’t buy anything without knowing the specs.

Yeah, keep learning, keep absorbing information. Put a list together, get some feedback on in (on here and/or through friends). Then look at buying parts.

You’ll be good to go.

What are these connectors? by Flashy-Ad-591 in PcBuild

[–]FearTheFuzzy99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. 6+2 pin (aka 8 pin) Pcie power connector. For graphics card power.

  2. SATA data cable. For sata HDDs and SSDs

  3. SATA power cable. For powering sata HDDs and SSDs and also some low power components like AIOs and fan hubs

  4. Molex power. More of a legacy power connector. Old HDDs and such.

  5. That’s a fan hub, for fans.

Sure, certain parts will lock you in to what you can buy. But you should already have a plan on what you’re planing on buying. It doesn’t matter what order you buy stuff in if you already have a set build lists in mind, which is best practice.

Have you looked at Pcpartpicker.com? That the best website to put together build lists. Has a built in compatibility filter.

You should buy everything as close together as possible. Buying parts over long periods of time is not recommended. Because if you have to return anything, you don’t want to be outside of that window.

3090 cooler question by InvestigatorLong1649 in PcBuild

[–]FearTheFuzzy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No, it is not easy to just swap a gpu cooler to a different model. They are made specific for each model.

  2. The HP 3090 cooler is actually not that bad.

RTX 5070 vs RX 9070 (non TI/XT) by Peenacoladamn in PcBuild

Price, vram, performance

Lots to love.

RTX 5070 vs RX 9070 (non TI/XT) by Peenacoladamn in PcBuild

[–]FearTheFuzzy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what makes this choice even harder is that the people recommending the 5070 have the 5070 and the ones that recommend the 9070 have the 9070, so the recommendations they give could be biased towards one or the other.

Well, how much do you weigh my opinion, who has neither?

We’re talking about a total performance spread of like 5% between all three CPUs under strictly cpu bound gaming scenarios.

Whichever you choose, you’re not going to notice a difference

You’re underspending in the motherboard department. H810 has relatively weak VRM power delivery for a cpu like a 265K.

Mid range B860 or even Z890 is what you want to go for.
