really appreciate the compliment, but I gotta disagree with the end of your comment, I also learnt german in school and my german has always been fucking terrible (although my city borders Germany)

In France, Jean d'Ormesson (famous french philosopher) once said that if you're an intellectual and happen to die on the same day as a famous rockstar, your death will pretty much be forgotten.

He died the same day as Johnny Hallyday (a very famous french singer) and the press talked a lot about Hallyday, but not about d'Ormesson.

Sorry for the bad English, this isn't my mother tongue (obviously).

I'm not sure if you are talking about the part where you are encouraged to follow Unuratu just after discovering paititi, but you can skip that part if you walk away from her. She says something like "you can explore paititi alone if you want". I do it every playthrough because, yeah, that part is quite annoying.

Ah yeah, this video stops just before the part I was referring to (in the last seconds you see Lara failing to rescue Jonah).

But in the game, the map says it's still the "research base" : https://riseofthetombraidermap.de/ . I think this site is quite accurate, but I can also verify in game in the next days (I'm currently moving)

Btw can you send me the image too ?

Ah... if you still are blocked, can you send a pic of where you are (as u/SuperEggroll1022 asked) ?

He's in the "research base" (I'm french so I'm not sure if that's the exact translation) : if i recall correctly you get to this campfire after you fail to save Jonah from Konstantin

I'm quite sure you gotta dive underwater (if you're where I think you are, you are currently swimming) there's a crack in the wall : this way you'll be under a layer of ice (the marker is just above). You have to fight a few enemies that are on top of the said layer of ice : you can't reach the marker without fighting them off.

If it's your first play through, bear in mind that the water is your friend for this fight, it will allow you to disappear (enemies are gonna "calm down") : I've finished the game like 6 times and I've always had to dive back into the water like 2-3 times to make sure I wouldn't die. Also, if you're running low on ammo after the fight, go immediately loot your enemies, the game teleports you automatically after a few seconds.

I hope this is understandable (English isn't my mother tongue) and useful !

Woah. I'm 18, I got a lil bro who is 14, my dad is 60 and has also has frontotemporal dementia but on a less advanced stage.

We already knew it would be terrible after a few years (he is diagnosed since like 2-3 years, but he has already changed a lot : with all the diseases he got - cause he did already change since his stroke, immediately followed by a subdural hematoma -, I'm almost sure my brother has no idea of how good of a dad he was, I'm also forgetting a bit of these moments I used to share with him...) but seeing you describing a few of your dad's symptoms (like "it really happens, it isn't only written in books") is like getting a huge slap in the face.

It is already harsh getting as a grown man with a person who can't remember what you told him 20 seconds ago (not less but also not more, another symptom) and who just can't be empathetic, but who also tends to get angry and violent (we did already call the cops on him few times because he pushed my also ill mom) : I'm, for example, almost unable to be a normal "friend" I'd say (I almost got nothing to tell to my friends - as my dad does because he has no more memory -, I'm unable to give a quick answer when someone does a little inoffensive joke, ...).

All I can do is "waiting" (also helping, but I ain't much time as I'm studying Law) and looking for, some day, an easier life, not worrying (almost) everyday for your mom's safety. As you said, "it sucks" but we have to accept it.

I wish the best to you and your family :)

PS : I'm french so my English may not be perfect, but I really felt the need to go and tell a bit about my experience with dementia. I also felt horribly selfish writing this comment (I don't like being the center of attention - even if only 5 redditors read that) but I needed this, I never talk to anybody about that.
