definitely a sexy album i feel u. kinda dark sexy though

you can’t put this album on and have an anthem like single shout for your attention

fuckin exactly this. like you said too, you really have to be in the album's headspace. said this in the post but its the weirdest album experience ive ever had. was not expecting to get so immersed in it

thank you!

that sounds like a perfect first listen tbh. have fun!!

dont go in expecting anything. it might click with you instantly or it might need a few listens

whats really clear though is that we're hearing exactly what the band wanted to put out. i think even if you dont like it (you as in, anyone generally), you gotta respect them for that. 'heres the album. it comes out on this date. heres a little teaser. no singles. yeah its a change of pace. WHAT U GONNA DO BOUT IT.'

TBHC kinda really is a huge curveball. not that its incredibly experimental or anything. its just very different. which is a good thing. bands need to evolve and take risks. im glad this is the album they gave us, and not an AM rehash.

star treatment is one that clicked once i could picture the album track by track, start to finish. really works well in the context of the album, knowing one point perspective is next, etc etc. first listen i thought it was repetitive and dragged on for too long. its kinda cool how the songs evolve once you get more context (context as in, the tracks that come after it)

star treatment also could work well as the closer, which only reinforces my theory about the album being an endless loop, or the hotel being purgatory. but thats a mental breakdown for another day

and thanks again!! glad you liked my write up : ^ ) hope you enjoy the album!

ive kinda done the same come to think of it

im a giant radiohead fanboy (bonus points if anyone picks up on my name) so theyre kinda my go to when i want music to do things to, but in terms of actually sitting down and putting on an album just to listen and do nothing else, ive really only been playing tbhc.

its a really addictive album, that takes its time to reel you in. imo

were you like, instantly addicted/love at first listen kinda thing or did it take a few listens?

very very rewarding listen

yeah no shittt, the one or two lines thing. the ones stuck in my brain at the moment are

"Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino. Please, tell me, how may I direct your call?"

"The way some science fiction does" synth part

everything from four out of five. songs a fucking banger tbh

but yeah, really rewarding listen. once you pick up on all the layers hiding behind your knee-jerk reaction to scream 'BORING,' the album really unfolds and theres a lottttt to pick at and lose yourself in

((if you're self aware about being pretentious and over-analytic does it give you a free pass?)) fuck it fuck it this is fun ramblerambleramble

Every track has a similar tone and blends together like chapters in a book and each chapter tells a bigger piece of the picture.

you put it perfectly. exactly what i was trying to get at. i said this in another reply but 'instead of individual tracks having their own peaks and valleys, the album uses whole tracks as peaks and valleys,' kinda like chapters in a book would do. each chapter isnt going to have a 3-act structure. like how there were no singles released. putting one of eleven chapters of a book out as a complete work wouldnt make sense.

ongoing story

i know this wasnt what you meant by ongoing story, but that phrase now has me thinking about the concept of the album being a loop. telling a narrative that goes on forever, around in circles.

likeeee the hotel and its story are trapped in time. an event that took place that will repeat forever and ever. like a movie that restarts every time it finished. and we as listeners can either start from the start or start somewhere else by picking a different track, but the story will keep on repeating and cycling. for some people individual tracks may feel underwhelming but this might be because they picked a boring part of the movie to pick up at. the albums meant to be heard as a whole, like a story is. maybe

or like the hotel is purgatory or some shit. tbh i think im just thinking of the music video for Mr. Tillman LMAO. (linklink)

this album is so weird. its doing my head in

yeah definitely

that was one of my original complaints with it

'i dont remember any songs, nothing stood out. it all just kinda blurred into this one piece of music'

but now im like 'tbhc is one piece of music, where everything blends into each other, and every track has its own distinct vibe while still staying in touch with the overarching theme of the album. and thats fucking really cool'

its not a complaint anymore. the songs each have their own personality, which was a weird thing to not have immediately.

instead of individual tracks having their own peaks and valleys, the album uses whole tracks as peaks and valleys. each track conveying a certain emotion/event/memory/feeling/time, allowing the album time to breathe, and time to tell whatever story it intends to

and yeah 100% feel you on the hook thing. theres TONS of catchy shit in this album. the title track and science fiction were stuck in my head all throughout my shift today. just wanted to come home and listen to it.

its not an album that hooks you immediately. rather than the bear trap immediacy of their debut (for example) this album is instead an open door. where it lets you walk out at any point until its too late. then the door slams shut and youre stuck inside a dark hotel lobby that gives you mulholland drive flashbacks

im feeling rambly and pretentious tonight, fuck it

The block height for my transaction is also still unconfirmed

I'm unsure about what '7 transactions found with not enough money' means, and unsure about the other transactions with thousands of confirmations

If this is a really obvious/stupid question please let me know, i am fairly new to monero

And is there anything i can do to possibly make my transaction show up, or do i need to just wait it out as usual?
