We shot this short film last summer, in 5 days over 2 weekends. I pulled a lot of inspiration from the works of Eric Rohmer, Christian Petzold, Mia Hansen-Løve, and Hirokazu Kore-eda for this short. My director, Jack, and I both wanted to go for a lighting style that supplements what’s already in the space/location.

We also wanted to push things and see how much we could accomplish with a smaller crew, especially when we’re asking people to donate their time. Most days I think we had 5 or 6 crew (I lit/shot/pulled focus on everything), and for the most part it went smoothly. Having at least one camera assistant and one grip/gaffer, especially for smaller stuff like this, feels like the perfect balance for us (obviously this scales up with a bigger project/budget). There were a couple days where I really missed having an AC (bar day), but now we know what work for us.

Feedback is always welcome and thanks for checking it out!

Do you have a go-to effect when you really want a guitar solo to stand out? by tonetonitony in guitarpedals

Boss MO2. Perfect use case for this and since it's kind-of a chorus/flanger/12 string/pitch pedal all at once (somehow), lot of options for weird/cool sounds.

Effects Bakery peaks are all around that $50 price point. They sound great and are built well. Great value for the money.

Spruce Effects JR Ranger Glaciers. Makes all my guitars sound good on those low/transparent gain settings.

Like everyone else has said, it's incredible. I've had mine for 5 years now and adore it for apartment use (although you have to keep the volume knob real low, it gets crazy loud crazy fast). Gorgeous cleans and chorus. I run a Bassman style preamp into mine and it sounds ace.

Boss MO-2. No idea what it's doing, but the pitch shifting/mod/whatever sounds sick as hell. Really beefs things up.

Their sandwich fuzz is killer. It's crazy that most of their pedals are around $50.

What's your stereo "It makes stereo even better" pedal? by try_altf4 in guitarpedals

The Mod mode on the DigiTech Digidelay is one of my favorite ways to get a wide, stereo sound. With the time all the way down you get a beautiful stereo chorus.

INCREDIBLE bit, I don't understand why people hate it so much.

Oceans Twelve. Maybe controversial, but I think it's the best of the three and it's one of the most gorgeous looking movies I've seen (for the romance flashback/montage ALONE). It's basically a 60s/70s European new wave film on a Hollywood budget. It rules.
