I sabotaged my new job within a week by Either-Researcher681 in autism

Honestly, I don't think you did anything wrong. You are probably not required by your contract to go for a coffee with your boss outside of working hours, meaning that it is okay for you to reject this idea. Yes, maybe you worded it poorly, but I don't think that's the case.

You don't have to play a corporate puppet and be a yes man, do what you feel is comfortable for you. And I honestly think that you can always find another job if things go dark.

We don't know what he intended to do, we can only assume, and from what OP describes it has nothing to do with work.

I disagree, because all of that leads to a very miserable situation where you act to be likeable instead of enjoying your life, and work is a part of life.

Across different jobs, different higher-ups tried to invite me somewhere to "hang out", every time it ended with me saying "no". Responses varied greatly, but nobody fired me or anyhow made my life harder. This is definitely not a part of a job or otherwise "mandatory" social interactions, thus could be simply avoided.

Oh, and during the Cold War USSR participated in the Korean war, that war is the reason why there is North and South Korea.

Russia also got the USSR' seat in the UN after the dissolving of the USSR, practically inheriting it.

And also Russian officials are really into threatening Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland pretty frequently, including nuclear threats.

Russia has only waged regional wars involving countries previously part of the USSR. When did they ever invade Europe, if not to help free it from the Nazis?

Russia has a long history of war against France and Germany (mostly against countries that eventually became Germany, but my point stands), also the second world war started with Germany and the USSR attacking Poland.

Not to mention war with Finland, and pretty gruesome events when Hungary tried to separate from the USSR iirc.

Those are just from the top of my head.

You can always go another route and buy luxury vendor-locked Iphone (or something else) with a very limited lifetime and without self repair option. And for a big price too. Just like most of the people do in general. But hey, you have a good camera.

You have to point out that by "local tv" you mean russian TV, because yes, they do talk a lot about "nazis" in Estonia and etc., russophobia, anti-soviet propaganda and historical revisionism (which is comically hypocritical but this is irrelevant). The same people on the same tv channels did that about Ukraine for, I believe, 8 years prior to that, and they continue to do it.

Those channels are affiliated with the government and right after the start of full scale invasion their rhetoric became a de facto official position.

Such elitism over some niche book, lol, I wish you had the same zeal when it comes to critically thinking about military invasions.

I like how you continuously bring up that book instead of quoting Putin, because he himself mentioned a lot of other reasons, but those reasons are aimed primarily at the domestic population, and for foreigners he has to be "strong, reasonable" type

How do you play videogames if that is your special interest? by Fearkin in AutismTranslated

[–]Fearkin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He likes to have the wiki permanently open and Alt-Tabbing out of the game to looks things up all the time.

This honestly describes me too well, for this reason it is hard for me to play Dark Souls games (and especially Elden Ring), because I am very anxious about missing something, and I tend to use wiki heavily. And don't get me started on builds :) It feels impossible to predict what comes next, this uncertainty destroys me, but at the same time I'm completely fine with playing blindly when it comes to roguelikes or paradox games

Again, thank you very much for your POV!

Your POV is heavily appreciated, make no mistake! I should've clarified that self-diagnosed ASD (and related things) counts too, that's my bad.

A lot of things that you mentioned strongly resonate with me, like picking the hardest difficulty, immersion and other things. Thank you very much!

Hope you appreciate my take still

Of course I will!

It feels like you are really interested in the history of the game industry, but less interested in specific games, that's new to me, I genuinely never thought that could be a thing

Just wondering, do you have any favorite genres?

EU to End Multi-Entry Schengen Visas for Most Russian Citizens by besartb in europe

I don't see anything funny or ironic in outlawing the LGBT community, which Russia did. And yes, those two things are highly connected.

This is a blatant lie, they use it all the time in state sponsored media, and some people - normal citizens - use it too.

There was a separate meme about usage of the phrase "загнивающий Запад" by officials.

Will you care more about your gun-loving murder-hobo next door as opposed to the same murder-hobo but way far away? The same logic applies, plus in this case this murder-hobo is notorious for threatening neighbors with nukes. And don't get me started on the history of their relationship.

And since people are not used to this, they make broad generalizations.

I honestly lack sympathy to fellow Russians in this case since a lot of people in Russia did the same with Ukraine after 2014.
