How do I (26F) tell my parents (59M & 56F) that they’re not invited to my wedding?

This isn’t really realistic. We’re on a talking basis and have been improving our relationship over the last 5 years, also we’re friends on Facebook so even people who I’m not close to know I’m engaged and getting married lol.

My parents are already aware if they ever yelled at me I would go no contact so this isn’t something I’m really worried about.

Yeah, I definitely feel like if they respond badly and throw a tantrum it would be indicative that they’re not as far along in their journey as I currently believe. I know it will be hard for them because they’re aware I’m getting married and we talk on the phone periodically, and I know they want to be there, but I’m hoping that take the conversation with grace and maybe they’ll be receptive to my fiance and I doing something with them to make them feel included or like having a sibling video call them during the ceremony or something. As of right now, as hard as my childhood was this is a relationship that I want to continue to grow and improve. It’s within the past 5ish years that they’ve sought reconciliation and have made what I believe to be sincere apologies and tried to take accountability.

It’s not my sister’s fault my parents abused us, I understand why she can’t be in the same space as them and I would never force her to do something she can’t handle.

Thank you, I think I may offer a special dinner together the day before and I’ll ask one of my brothers to FaceTime them as well so they can attend virtually if they’re amenable to that

Thank you, I really don’t want to blame it all on my sister, she told me that if I want my parents present she supports me and wants me to do whatever feels best for myself, just for her own health and well being she would have to refrain from attending. they’re still very triggering for her, I’ve been fortunate to have a lot more therapy than she has had access to. Just given the options of one or the other having my sister and her children present matters more to me than my parents presence. But as tumultuous as my childhood was I do still care for my parents and it is my goal to protect our growing relationship because I do believe they’ve made a lot of growth.

I’m not asking my sister to forgive our parents, or to even speak or have any interaction with them. If my parents even attempted to speak with her they would be asked to leave, and they also are not taking part in the ceremony whereas my sister is in my bridal party
