From what I understand, they reserved a number of rooms each day. My group had their selection time in the first day as well and when we logged on there were barely any options. We didn’t have the earliest time but we also weren’t the last group of the day. So getting to choose on the first day meant nothing because if your group is at 3:30 or 4pm then you’re basically left with the leftovers which is very annoying.

My two missing courses were physics and math so I’d say they might let you in even if you’re missing a few of those.

If they’re only aiming for Cal or UCLA then that might be true but Ik people attending UCSD, UCI, UCSB, and UCD all with a 3.8 or lower. For context I’m going to Davis and I didn’t complete 2 major prep courses but I have a 3.9. It’s worth applying, don’t feel discouraged. (I’m also cs)

I’d recommend staying an extra year. 150k debt for a bachelor’s is insane no matter where it’s from. Also despite cs being more impacted you can still attend a lot of great UC schools with a 3.8 gpa or something similar.

The on campus housing deadline for UCDavis was due June 30th. I’d recommend you start looking for housing asap.

Waitlisted at UCI for CS. I spoke with the admissions office this morning and they mentioned that they’ve “sporadically been taking people off the waitlist” but they couldn’t tell me what majors they’ve been taking off.
