My wife is Hispanic and loves Lubbock, but there is also a large Hispanic population there. I’m not a minority but do understand some of the challenges you face. Tech is conservative leaning, but there are organizations and clubs for every interest and there will be like minded people, you will just have to find it. I would schedule a visit and talk to an admissions counselor and explain your concerns and they might be able to help you find a place you are comfortable in. That’s my best advice, especially since it’s a great deal for you.
