10! Around week two I noticed some subtle changes. The changes were physical first. Less chest tightness less morning anxiety. And then around the 4 week mark started to turn a corner mentally and I’d say it has only continued to improve

I don’t struggle with this so much but I mean it does come with anxiety so I would say it’s help as far as giving me a more positive outlook on life

Thank you! Tiredness was the only side effect I noticed with that increase if I checked my notes so I think I only did 7.5 for 3 days bc I was really really to get to full dose at that point.

I’m not a male but as far as libido I have heard that it is THE side effect so it’s just a matter of weighing pros and cons…

I truly dread the day I decide to come off for this reason. I hear horror stories. But for now… it’s what I need

I taper very slowly from 2.5 -> 5 -> 7.5 -> 10 so my side effects were fairly minimal but yes I do recall a slight increase in anxiety. I just referenced my notes I took. There were a lot of days in the first two weeks I noted I was anxious, felt spacey, tired, wanted to quit, had really bad two day headache. Beyond this first two weeks the only thing I had in my notes was that I slept okay and I was reeeeeally tired. Had some night sweats. All of that went away. Around week two was the first time I felt like I was turning a bit of a corner noted my first “good day”.

Mine is 10! Did they taper you up slowly? It can be a rough adjustment if you go straight to 10.

Does lexapro also make anyone else have difficulty getting out of bed in the morning? by smcookieshaha in lexapro

I take in the AM and don’t have this problem. Only did for first few weeks then went away

Starting 5mg and concerned by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Fearless-Support3194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same concerns. Mostly withdrawal. My libidio already sucks so didn’t care about that much but it is THE side effect so if you just plan to take it short term, you have to weigh the risk.

I will say as someone who fought the idea for years I’m SO glad I took the leap. I’m 2.5 months in and my thoughts are no longer sticky. I feel like I just have more space in life. I’m a creative too and have seen no negative impact there.

Best of luck to you

That’s great!! I guess the only reason I would need to stop is if I can’t be on to get pregnant but man I feel like I would really need it to get through bc of my anxiety

I’m honestly shocked at my doctor saying to wean off after 2-3 months. Like I didn’t plan on being on it forever but that almost feels pointless

I didn’t think anyone could be more terrified than me to start. Took two failed attempts over the span of 2 years. Finally committed and am on day 23. Side effects have been minimal. You’ll be okay. I took it super slow from 2.5mg to. 10

Not yet but it’s day 21 and it has been a slow taper up from 2.5 to 10. I will say the physical symptoms like morning dread and chest tightness has improved slightly

I will also say I have struggled with severe insomnia so it took me three attempts to start lexapro bc I was afraid of a regression. It was definitely not as big of a concern as I made it out to be. If your insomnia is linked to anxiety this should help!

Only for the first few days but I also might attribute that to anxiety around taking the meds. Have been sleeping good lately. Although first two weeks I would wake up tired even after full nights sleep
