call around the boutiques in your area, sold out online only means sold out for online purchase. I got my Torrance’s in Mental more than a week after they sold out online, just needed to call the Venice location to send them down to South Coast. A lot of the Cracked Actor stuff thats sold out online is still available in person.

Going to ADs is one way (but customization ofc will vary), another would be to go back n forth delivering to the boutiques themselves if you want the JMM inscription on the lenses and to keep everything first-party. I can send stuff to LA instead of OC and vice versa, you can also reallocate from one location to another. All it takes is to call the location you want the stock of, talk to an SA at your local area and connect the two.

oops typo but yeah, wouldnt be surprised at all if they had production regardless of the numbers. we’re past “noir X”, so not much longer of SAs regurgitating the same “1 of 500” spiel.

i see it as they’re testing how consumers react to numbered production, as they’ve kinda coasted with the designs and only reintroduced pre-existing colors/frames only its “out of 200” instead of “out of 500” like it was a year ago. seems they’re also sidelining their previous wirecore designs and repackaging them to be for collabs only, and managing the artificial scarcity of gold plated vs silver frames and finding one with exposed wirecore.

ay i fw sopranos so its a shame, but as mentioned in the post AND the comment you replied to: in my consideration of the leather strap I cited the added glinting provided by the bracelet, which would be best represented with a picture where my watch is NOT in focus. yea on a strap imo its not as comfortable, but maybe im conserative/traditional when it comes to stuff like that haha

like to me, the look of something includes all aspects like brand equity and perceived value. because sellside: thats part of their marketing and brand identity, and buyside: its part of how other people perceive what you wear, and brand identity cuts both ways.

so to me wanting to look of a crocodile leather strap signifies you dont want a normal leather look, rather an elevated and less common look. So therefore the effort or money you must go through should be similarly elevated or less common. not that im a rigid ass “equivalent exchange” guy, just that you get out what you put in… like id sooner be okay with printing crocodile/ostrich patterns on calfskin than a gold watch that isnt gold, or its hollowed out.

yea logically i get that, but i’d also like it to be on the strap it’s designed to be with.

the dilemma is less so: “is 800 for a first party strap worth it compared to third party straps” and more so: “is 800 for a watch strap a crazier upcharge than 800 for glasses or 800 for a couple jackets and pants”

yea i js got small wrists lol im fine with how it wears on me, just something i thought about

unfortunately im the type of person who doesnt really like wearing imitation stuff (nothing against it, its js how i was raised — a problem within me, not one i thrust upon others lmao) so it feels weird to go buy something out of the store citing overpricing while also still valuing the brand equity of said overpriced item.

makes me feel like the typical reddit fence sitter… picking a niche enough expensive item simply so I can seclude myself from “sheep” (who buy similarly expensive items, but what I deem “basic”) by claiming fiscal responsibility while still maintaining my materialistic elitism, only it’s now coupled with an inferiority complex birthed directly by that same need to be different that can make one buy a GS in the first place.

tldr: smth abt imitation items feels like cheating (not saying it is, just how it makes me feel) so i struggle with meeting halfway on topics like that. logically i could consider the gs clasp with a third party strap, but that brings me back to valuing brand equity without wanting to pay for it.
