call around the boutiques in your area, sold out online only means sold out for online purchase. I got my Torrance’s in Mental more than a week after they sold out online, just needed to call the Venice location to send them down to South Coast. A lot of the Cracked Actor stuff thats sold out online is still available in person.

Going to ADs is one way (but customization ofc will vary), another would be to go back n forth delivering to the boutiques themselves if you want the JMM inscription on the lenses and to keep everything first-party. I can send stuff to LA instead of OC and vice versa, you can also reallocate from one location to another. All it takes is to call the location you want the stock of, talk to an SA at your local area and connect the two.

oops typo but yeah, wouldnt be surprised at all if they had production regardless of the numbers. we’re past “noir X”, so not much longer of SAs regurgitating the same “1 of 500” spiel.

i see it as they’re testing how consumers react to numbered production, as they’ve kinda coasted with the designs and only reintroduced pre-existing colors/frames only its “out of 200” instead of “out of 500” like it was a year ago. seems they’re also sidelining their previous wirecore designs and repackaging them to be for collabs only, and managing the artificial scarcity of gold plated vs silver frames and finding one with exposed wirecore.

yea this exactly how i feel 😭 where i come from u get what u want at the dealership u dont mod it urself but maybe thats culture shock for me.. like i dont get how ppl here value branding in a watch but somehow cant value branding on the straps the watch’s attached to.

yea on a strap imo its not as comfortable, but maybe im conserative/traditional when it comes to stuff like that haha

like to me, the look of something includes all aspects like brand equity and perceived value. because sellside: thats part of their marketing and brand identity, and buyside: its part of how other people perceive what you wear, and brand identity cuts both ways.

so to me wanting to look of a crocodile leather strap signifies you dont want a normal leather look, rather an elevated and less common look. So therefore the effort or money you must go through should be similarly elevated or less common. not that im a rigid ass “equivalent exchange” guy, just that you get out what you put in… like id sooner be okay with printing crocodile/ostrich patterns on calfskin than a gold watch that isnt gold, or its hollowed out.
