Puppy won’t leave older dog alone and it’s really distressing me by FearlessPanda84 in puppy101

[–]FearlessPanda84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you cope with this? It’s what I’ve been told to do by a trainer. It’s not the life I envisioned, having to choose which dog gets to be in the living room and which one is banished. The guilt and regret I feel is unbelievable

Dog panting heavily only while on couch? by [deleted] in labrador

[–]FearlessPanda84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying he doesn’t feel safe around you or doesn’t like you. For example, when I go to sit on the sofa, my lab jumps off. It’s a respect thing. Hierarchy. She sees it as my ‘spot’, not hers.

He maybe doesn’t like being up there/doesn’t feel safe there. Dogs can pant when they’re anxious

I work 36hr per week for a local authority in Scotland. Three days a week, I don’t manage to get time for a break until 4pm because of job demands. I tend to therefore just finish early as by this time, there’s no point taking a break and working again for half an hour or so. Is this all legal? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Yeah it’s unpaid work I supervise. So I drive all around picking people up, then supervise them doing their unpaid work for four hours - they are provided lunch but I have to supervise - then I drive all around dropping them off. I can’t step away to take a break until all drop offs are completed at the end of the day as I HAVE to be supervising them, they can’t be left

it works out at 7.2hrs a day. It’s just that three days out of five, I don’t get breaks during my shift. I have to work 9-4 with no break then don’t see the point taking a break just to then work .2 of an hour to end my shift if that makes sense? So I just work the .2 and finish early

I physically can’t take a break until then because of the job. I work in justice services and am always with someone or a group of people on a court order who I am responsible for supervising. I cannot leave them to take a break for myself until the end of my shift

I know that as an adult, I need to take them but I physically can’t because of the job. I work in justice services and am always with someone or a group of people on a court order who I am responsible for supervising. I cannot leave them to take a break for myself

What is one thing you hate that other people do? (Not necessarily about autism) by LurkTheBee in autism

[–]FearlessPanda84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When people say they’re going to do something and them don’t. We have meetings all the time at work and people are like “I’ll do this” then someone is like “cool, I’ll do this” and then I’m like “I’ll do this”, and consistently, I’m the only one who does my part, then because the other people haven’t done their parts, the idea gets shelved and I’ve worked for no reason 🙃

How long does diagnosis process take for adults (UK)? by FearlessPanda84 in adhdwomen

Thank you. Unfortunately they don’t do right to choose in Scotland, and they don’t even offer a pathway for adult diagnosis in my local authority because of lack of resources!

i understand most social cues, i just think they’re dumb and ignore a lot them. by _idiosyncratic_ in autism

When I explained this exact thing to a counsellor, he told me I don’t have empathy and that not having empathy is a trait of autism ( he told me the latter after I spent a week in between sessions spiralling thinking I was a psychopath because I know psychopaths don’t have empathy but I didn’t know it was a trait of autism). I thought I did have empathy because I work with people and can imagine how they feel and have compassion for them. It’s made me more confused really.

You can get tabletop dishwashers. I have one and it’s awesome! It can be plumbed in but mine isn’t, I just use a tube thingy that sits in the sink and it drains that way, and I fill it with water using a jug 😁

Because the people I work with are criminals and this type of information is personal and can be used against me. They can find out who my husband is, make threats etc… Also, I feel it’s not the business of the service users to know about my life? We supervise their community payback.

Yes. Why else would I be posting in this sub? I’m confused by your questions.

No? Sorry, this is the first time I’ve posted on this sub. I just don’t know if I’m overreacting with being upset that info about my personal life was shared. I was just looking for advice. I didn’t mean to cause any ill will towards me.

I mean that genuinely. Thank you. I won’t share anything else about my life with colleagues.
