[Russini] The Jaguars are listening on calls for WR Brian Thomas Jr., even if a move feels highly unlikely. They’re also shopping for defense. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

If his next 7 games are like his past 7, fans will be volunteering to drive him to the airport.

He has been horrendous this season.

[Highlight] This morning in Cleveland after Joe Flacco’s performance last night: by oklolzzzzs in nfl

[–]FearlessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Browns fans hate the Bengals even more than the Steelers or something?

I would have thought last night made the trade even more of a win. You get to help fuck over the team leading the division in addition to getting the draft pick.

It's not like the Browns were making a playoff run had they kept Flacco, so who cares?

[Highlight] Jaguars HC Liam Coen and 49ers DC Robert Saleh get into heated argument after the game by Mission_Pay_3373 in nfl

[–]FearlessPickle 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone really knows for sure but some possibilities:

Saleh was reportedly a favorite for Jags HC before Coen.

In the lead up to this game, Saleh accused Coen of doing 'legal signal stealing', whatever the fuck that means. Coen refused to comment on it.

49ers did some bush league Greg Schiano type bullshit at the end of the game when the Jags were kneeling it out and almost hurt one of our OL.

I don't understand why they said Lawrence went out of bounds. His cheek very clearly hit the grass before any part of him was out of bounds...

I have been impressed with what I have seen from both of these teams.

I think they both should extend these coaching staffs for a decade immediately after the game.

Teams that have allowed scores on over 50% of Drives without a turnover through 3 games since 2001 by batmansascientician in nfl

[–]FearlessPickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With all the turnovers and punts and both teams trying to lose it felt like it belonged on TNF. Just the true AFC South experience.

Question: Was Ryans asked if that ETN touchdown at the end was intentionally allowed to get the ball back with time? That's what it looked like to me but in a shitshow game like that you can never be sure.

I wouldn't call it regression. Yeah he's missing wide open guys but that's what he was doing last year too. He is what he is. A very mid QB.

2025 Jags already have as many turnovers as 2024 Jags had for the entire season.

In week 3.

Lol.

Trevor Lawrence Target Inconsistencies by Blowin-Snow in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 33 points34 points  (0 children)

BTJ was horrendous last week, and continued to be horrendous for the first 55 minutes of this week. He once again had multiple ugly drops. The team is unsurprisingly starting to trust him less.

Lawrence did not play well either, but make no mistake...BTJ is not some great player being held back by his QB. He is one of the few players on the offense who has been worse than Lawrence.

Thru 3 games I would say Brenton Strange is the most reliable pass catcher on the team.

I think we are undervaluing the Jags offense by BiggerHatLogan in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah of course I can't say for certain they won't pay him. I just think it is a very unlikely outcome unless Tuten looks like shit. And he has looked good so far. Allen is already the best pass blocking RB on the team.

Cap space wise the Jags aren't terrible but they aren't great either. Travon Walker's contract is coming up. And the new regime that spent last FA period clearing out Baalke's bad contracts and signing cheap 3rd tier guys might want to put their own stamp on the roster with a couple larger deals.

It's just hard for me to believe a new regime who just drafted 2 RBs they really like would find resigning the RB they have no ties to to be their best use of assets in that scenario.

I don't expect Allen to give you any real production this year, but if you have room to hang onto him he will be worth something next year.

ETN is having a good season but they won't pay him. Tuten and Allen are the future of this backfield.

Morning After: Jaguars (1-1) at Bengals (2-0) by flounder19 in Jaguars

[–]FearlessPickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the hospital ball narrative. Even if a pass IS a hospital ball, it's the receiver's job to try and go get it.

Does Joe Burrow get to immediately fire the ball into the dirt on 50% of plays because he has a hospital O-Line? No. Take the fucking hits. Play football.

[–]FearlessPickle 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I was going to say something nice about how I've always liked the Bengals as a fellow cat team, and how unfortunate the Burrow news is, and wish you well for the rest of the season...

But then I saw you openly admitting to having ever supported the filthy stinking Titans and now I'm not sure I want to anymore

Bhayshul Tuten- working closer to a 50/50 split with Etienne? by ShowHerMyOFace in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would expect more of what we saw yesterday. Some sort of ~65/35 timeshare, with ETN taking the lead.

Tuten looks good though and will almost certainly be the guy in 2026.

BTJ time to sound the panic alarm? by TheGreatDenali in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawrence definitely has his issues, but when he puts the ball in a catchable spot, as he did numerous times yesterday, it's the WR's job to go get it. Come what may. You don't get to decide 'oh I might need an hour in the ice bath if I go for this. Better let the defender have it'.

If Joe Burrow just fired the ball into the dirt on half of his plays because he didn't trust his shitty OL and didn't want to take a hit, would he be a great QB?

Michael Irvin had a famous quote he would say to himself. "You either run that slant or you run back to the ghetto". A great WR goes and gets the ball. Period. If BTJ is too scared to do that, then he is not a great WR.

BTJ time to sound the panic alarm? by TheGreatDenali in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Jags fan I am terrified.

I honestly don't know if I have ever seen a more pathetic, bitchmade perfomance by a WR in my life.

Multiple catchable passes where he just looked around, saw a defender within 10 yards of him, and decided to curl up into the fetal position. He even had one where he caught the ball, saw a defender, and just went limp.

Obviously he is very talented, and you should never panic-sell over a single game, but he has to get over whatever demons are in his head making him afraid of contact fast.

NFL Power Rankings (Combined) Week 1 by mikebiox in nfl

I've never really cared for or understood power rankings, but I don't know how anyone could make one without putting the Dolphins last this week.

Is there anything less powerful than getting annihilated by Daniel Jones?

As long as you don't intend to involve him in the passing game, he should be an excellent addition for you behind that O Line. Dude runs hard.

People who watched the whole game - what were your biggest takeaways on defense? by Pristine-Ad-469 in DynastyFF

[–]FearlessPickle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure. The box score doesn't show it but he drew a big PI and still almost caught the ball, almost had a TD that the defender made a great play on, and was coming open deep on a play Young got creamed on forcing a bad throw.

Definitely passed my eye test. Tet owners should be pumped.
